Re: What have I gone and done?

Been driving the Stepwagon since 1st of October and starting to make some comparisons. Also driven the 2004 facelift model which my partner has just bought. The overall length is about a foot more than the Bongo and the usable space in the back is less. the floor is lower but not level everywhere. N...

Re: What have I gone and done?

That is very interesting, Ian. Thank you. Particularly interested in manuals but also, of course. spares. the chassis number begins with RF but I will PM I or email it to you in full. The newer one is a 2004 facelift version with VTech DOHC engine and no cam belt. I have driven both of them now and ...

What have I gone and done?

After being a Bongo devotee since 2008 and knowing in my heart that there is nothing quite like a Bongo, I have taken on my partner's Honda Stepwagon (W reg). She has been driving it for quite a while and loves the kudos of a big van but only really used it for local run with only herself in it. Rec...

Re: Oil extraction pump?

Reading this thread prompted me to try out an electric pump I bought in Aldi several years ago and which has remained in its box until yesterday. it is called an 'Ultimate Speed Oil Suction pump UAP 12 A1' and it surpassed all expectations, particularly with regard to the extraction tubing which eas...

Re: Convert Bongo to Electric Vehicle

I read in a recent Camping and Caravanning magazine that LEVC who make the electric black taxicabs have brought out an MPV version suitable for camper conversion. It is boxy and utilitarian in appearance, which is not something I have any problem with. Sadly, despite being British built, it would ap...

Re: Bongo wave

I frequently find myself waving at Bongo drivers when I am driving my little 2003 Suzuki Ignis, which also happens to be a proper right hand drive vehicle built in Japan and not some eurocar minimally bodged for the UK market. I get some odd looks from doing this and one time was alongside at lights...

Re: fan lying in chassis

I've stolen the scavenger fan idea for my antique kitchen boiler flue. I mounted an old 4 1/2 inch wide computer fan at a similar jaunty angle on the the tray between the boiler and the flue in order to get a good draught going on days when cold air comes down the chimney faster than hot air goes up...

Re: future

My Bongo already replaced my VW camper!

(But the latter is still sitting on the drive waiting for someone to take pity on it)

Re: Bongo birthday

I do love the sound of a Spitfire engine! Someone should pop one in a Bongo, it would be a great 25th birthday present! I have been lucky enough to hear that sound very frequently as they were flying a two seater out of Biggin Hill several times a day for the last couple of years, usually out over ...

Re: Stuck At Home During The Pandemic?

First thing I did was phone Ian and renew my (slightly overdue) membership.

Next job is the perennial drop links renovation and then the wheel arch rust!

Nudist camp closed so sunning myself, suitably clothed, in my garden which is thankfully sheltered from the cold wind.

Re: Windscreen wiper arm length

Got it!

It's the arm that's longer on the passenger side, not the blade!

What I really like about this forum is that people don't generally post duff information!

Happy Christmas!

Re: Windscreen wiper arm length

Looks like I've got it the wrong way round.

Can't wait to go and look but I'm not on line again until I next come to a WiFi cafe!

Re: Windscreen wiper arm length

Surely the longer one is on the passenger side?

Unfortunately I'm not near the van at the moment so can't check either!
