Re: service due

Try giving Simon at Contract Mechanics a call. Not quite Oxfordshire but not far. Had him service mine and change the brake pads a couple of months ago.

Re: Camping Cake

This one is so simple its not true, and by crikey its a solid scoff. Make one of these before you go off Bongoing and I recon it would see you through a weekend. :D http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/bara_brith_33441 Baked it today and very nice it is too, even without butter on. I'm no bake off hop...

Re: Bongo mechanic/garage for servicing in the south Bucks area

Sorry in being late in getting to this thread but i think the place you're referring to is Contract Mechanics. They do advertise on here and are based near a village called Harbury - not far from M40 J12 (Gaydon). Used them quite a few times (stuff like head, radiator, sills) and Simon is very helpf...

Re: Intermittent tap problem

I had the same issue, intermittent working gradually getting worse. Had a bit of a try at ruling out the various parts by a process of elimination. My power is via a 12v socket in the back so tried that with my powered cool box to prove i had current. Checked the pump by disconnecting the tap and po...

Re: Screen wash not working. :-(

However if it is the pumps, you might need to do a search for the exact one but the Subaru pump works and is infinitely cheaper than the Bongo one (ohhhh it's an import, lets double the price). Look on eBay for the Bongo one and compare the pictures for the Subaru (I think it was Imprezza). The pip...

Re: Interior light led swap

Was considering changing my centre bulb for LED but unsure of the procedure/complexity so the Amazon LED bulb is a great spot. =D> What made me consider it was the centre light occasionally not coming on; would be working fine when switched to the on position but then the next time wouldnt come on a...

Re: France - Breakdown Cover

Can highly recommend ADAC for your trip to France. We broke down in mid France last year and they shipped our Bongo home and provided most of our travel costs. You need to translate the site into english as they're based in germany but it's the best I've found so worth the hassle http://www.adac.de...

Re: internet on the go (again!)

Just a reminder that Three mobile have extended their "feel at home" promotion to include France now. http://www.three.co.uk/Discover/Phones/Feel_At_Home?intid=3mainfahrbn1501 So if you buy a PAYG data sim here you can used the data allowance over there. Just need to make sure your Mi-Fi/D...

Re: Breakdown Insurance

An update based on my call to 2gether yesterday.
They no longer will cover vehicles over 10 years old on European trips.
Which I guess rules us all out now :(

Re: France - Breakdown Cover

I've just used Aria Assistance (formerly Europ Assist) & it cost about £50 for 14 days cover. Not sure if there is a vehicle age restriction as mine is only 12 years old. RAC/AA/Green Flag quotes ranged from £70 to £180 for same cover and many of the companies I tried online didn't have Bongo l...

Re: France - Breakdown Cover

Have just tried to buy their European breakdown cover for £75. Despite what the website says and the fact they were about to take my money they do not cover vehicles over 10 years old for European Breakdown. I thought to give then a call just before i hit the pay button! So my search for cover conti...

Another update - Full beam on the switch doesnt work, but flash does.
More evidence of relay failure? If it is where would be the best place to get one?

Headlight failure - rear, side and full beam fine

Hi all Decided to travel down to Cornwall last night for the start of the family holiday (usually travel Saturday but decided to get an extra day be leaving early evening Friday #-o) but at about 2130 realised it wasn't so bright in front of the van. Pulled off at Tiverton, had a quick check and hea...
