Re: Flashing Hold Light, Only Changing Up on Very High Revs
Sorry for the late reply, just stumbled across this thread again!
To clear fault codes you need to remove all power from vehicle and they will clear.
Disconnect the battery terminals and then pump the brake pedal to use up any residual power.
This cleared them for me, several times!

Re: Flashing Hold Light, Only Changing Up on Very High Revs SOLVED!!!
SOLVED at last After four garages including a Bongo specialist had tried and I had tried several things to find what was causing the fault, finally got it sorted. I had pointed it out to 3 of the garages, asking if it could have been the turbo due to loss of power? Well that was it. The reporting to...

Re: Flashing Hold Light, Only Changing Up on Very High Revs
Thanks Mike
Once complete, I'll have to offer something like free 'wildish' camping for BF members once done, water, showers and even bed breaks lol
The countdown to finding out is definitely on. I'll have a good idea once I get home in less than 2 weeks if she will maintain her previous reliability.

Re: Flashing Hold Light, Only Changing Up on Very High Revs
Jeebers what a tale. Glad its now fixed and hope it stays fixed for you. Just shows what can happen - i'd need to re-read the whole thread to remember how you came to have burnt/bundled wires that had allegedly been redone three times :-k Initial breakdown was a hose leak in Budapest - fixed but to...

Re: Flashing Hold Light, Only Changing Up on Very High Revs
I wouldn't think so. I would imagine code 60 would put the transmission into permanent default i.e thumping into D or R & driving in 3rd (I think) all the time. As said earlier your symptoms fit with speed sensor. Thanks Alacrity. Ordered a new sensor to see if it resolves the problem. Will als...

Re: Flashing Hold Light, Only Changing Up on Very High Revs
No problem with jumping on
I'd say that's a 36 as well so I'm confused too.
Not renewed my BF membership yet bit as someone said earlier there is info in the members area that they provided links to, maybe those have an answer?

Re: Flashing Hold Light, Only Changing Up on Very High Revs
That, to me, is code 6. No question. It also fits with your driving symptoms. Many thanks Alacricity. The garage did replace this, after finding a lower voltage on the Vehicle Speed Sensor already fitted, than the one I got sent from UK as a replacement. They garage also replaced / reconnected / re...

Re: Flashing Hold Light, Only Changing Up on Very High Revs
What year is your vehicle? The flashing codes used to be only readable using an LED/Lamp on earlier versions, then later the actual Hold lamp flashed the code when strapped and then later still the 2 digit codes were replaced with 4 single digit sequences when OBDII compatibility was brought in. Th...

Re: Flashing Hold Light, Only Changing Up on Very High Revs
Thanks again. Here is the current code flashing... https://youtu.be/HE-HZUuWI8E Forgive me if i am getting this wrong but it doesn't match the timings as stated on the diagnostics info for length of flashes. The first time(before purging old codes) there were 3 speeds of flashes, the one in this vid...

Re: Flashing Hold Light, Only Changing Up on Very High Revs
There are only two flash speeds as it says on the info, with a pause. How long the pause is between the flashes tells you if you have 6 or 66. Read the info posted, its all there. Was definitely getting 3 codes as detailed before I did the power reset. As CMM says, I wonder how it deals with multip...

Re: Flashing Hold Light, Only Changing Up on Very High Revs
Managed to get the codes. Still need some clarification if anyone can help please :) Before I disconnected the battery I was getting a series of flashes... 6 medium speed 6 slow speed 4 fast speed I then disconnected the battery (and purged using brake pedal) which cleared all codes. I had to drive ...

Re: Flashing Hold Light, Only Changing Up on Very High Revs
Many thanks, I got confused reading about the 2nd connection with LED mentioned. Will get onto that and report back.Alacrity wrote:All you need to do it connect TAT & Ground & read the flashing code(s) on the HOLD light.

Re: Flashing Hold Light, Only Changing Up on Very High Revs
Thank you. I did see that earlier but assumed it needed some special piece md equipment. I gave it to the garage but they essentially said it meant nothing to them! I've just had a thorough read now. Am I getting this correctly... to get the fault codes you put a direct connection between the first ...
