Re: Starting difficulty
Mike: Cheers!
Kirsty:
But look underneath and you'll see what I was getting at! Not that it makes any bally difference as it's off to the Bongo Hospital tomorrow anyway...

Re: Starting difficulty
An update...
The locking was an exposed wire, all sorted.
The fuel filler cap flap (!): bent the clip a bit!
The non-starting... well, it was the inhibitor: going in the garage tomorrow, but essentially the cable seems to have stretched! I tried tightening the black plastic thingummy that fits ...

Starting difficulty
Morning all
A bit of diagnostic help needed, Bongo gurus:
Key in, glowplug light on and off as normal, turn key: nothing, not even a click.
Try again a few times with the same result.
Wiggle auto gearshift around the various positions and hey presto!
Try a few more goes and each time, starts ...

Cheers Scuba, good point. Although after everything that's gone wrong since September I think they can probably take the thing, and good luck to 'em.

Won't start

Friday night I packed all my camping gear into the Bongo and turned the key.
All the lights did everything they were meant to, but it wouldn't start.
The starter motor was fine...until the battery went flat.
Called out the AA who whacked as much charge into me as they could, along ...

Just back from under the van...
I wondered about that but I thought that was the slightly bigger one which (on mine at least, comes out over the top and is clipped to the side where, if you unhook it, can pop out of the passenger door. With a cap on the end. This seems to come from the back end of ...

hose question
Just noticed I have a long, narrow black rubber tube - floppy, maybe 1cm+ in diameter, with a u-bend at the end, hanging down underneath my Bongo. It runs from back to front along the passenger side and, I assume, should really be attached to something on the engine block.
Now I recently had the ...
