Re: tappet noise v6

Sorry not answered ..... When I put the valve/tappet treatment in the result was pretty instant. Thanks Haydn. I'll just keep praying for a while, then. There have also been suggestions that some sustained high revs operation can sometimes clear a stuck valve lifter, so maybe that's next - although...

Re: tappet noise v6

Dunno if this is relevant or not .. To me my V6 seems to be a very quiet engine .. but there again I do have an hearing aid ..!! I only use fully synthetic oil ... which is more 'oily' and searching than mineral / semi synthetic oils .. so maybe it will reach the parts other oils can't .. (I think ...

Re: tappet noise v6

I had the same on our V6...used the stuff from Halfords....(carn't remember the name....could have been Wynns) worked for me. Hello Haydn. Hope you're well. I think our V6 has this same problem, now - straight after a flush and oil change! Nosing around generally online, Wynns Hydraulic Valve Lifte...

Re: Solar starter battery charger

Having measured the out put of various small solar panals anything less than a 10watt jobby will be a waste of money especially in the winter. Regards Gray. True, if onboard devices in standby mode, consume a significant amount or power, you might need more - but a 2.4 watts (0.2 amps at 12 volts),...

Re: Refused an MOT test !!!

Most, if not all Bongos have no gross weight on their VIN, or in the V5 ("logbook"). If you want to be sure of Bongo for Christmas, look up public weighbridges in Yellow Pages, and get it weighed (about a tenner) - worth doing anyway. Mazda-specified gross vehicle weight (in original Japan...

Re: New 12v Battery Needed (V6)

Hey, how are ya! Thanks for the email back on Dec. 2nd. Sorry I have taken this long to respond. Busy with life I guess! Yes, I am still a BongoNut. I have actually enjoyed running the thing now for nearly 7 months of ownership. Until very recently, I haven't needed anything. Although, you may reca...

Re: LPG Service

Don't think I've read about your problems elsewhere but are you getting rough idling, misfiring, low power on either or both LPG or petrol? If so, might be worth reading this http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=53002 ...and this http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewt...

Re: New 12v Battery Needed (V6)

.......Where do we buy NEW injectors?. > > Are you sitting down - with something strong in a glass? Asuming yours is a diesel, I can only offer, not very encouraging, tangential info. The only source, for V6 Bongo petrol injectors anyway, is Mazda. The Bongo Shop on this site can get a quote for yo...

Re: New MOT test in 2012

It's time to 1.) make piping illegal, and 2.) withdraw from the EU - assuming, that is, we don't get thrown out first. Oh, and Happy Christmas all 8) Number 1 is not going to go down well North of the border  do you think we would be OK playing the chanter quietly.  I guess I will ...
