Re: Alternative to BMW clock?

It's hard to tell if it will fit in the neat surround, but I'm presuming not. This ebay listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E36-318ti-Compact-Coupe-DASH-CONSOLE-CLOCK-unit-PERFECT-62138362857-z3-/360852428196 provides god quality images that suggest it's too narrow. I am hoping it will still fit in ...

Re: Alternative to BMW clock?

I've taken a bit of a leap and purchased one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E36-3-SERIES-COMPACT-DIGITAL-DASHBOARD-TIME-CLOCK-/251442307407?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ABMW%7CPlat_Gen%3AE36&hash=item3a8b21214f plus 4 core cable t plumb it in. I may well be bac...

Re: Alternative to BMW clock?

I'm liking Simon Jones' solution, but I've also looked into the BMW Mini clock option. It too has three wires, which to a naive electrical brain, suggests that it's a similar level of simplicity to install as the much used BMW clock. A bit of Googling later, I found this site http://www.northamerica...

Alternative to BMW clock?

I'm curious whether anybody has fitted an alternative clock to the usual BMW 3 series one? The advantage off the BMW seems to be three wires rather than 4 or more. Can anybody suggest how a clock with 4 wires could be plumbed in (with aWillington leisure battery set up) and if there are any problems...

I don't know about testing it, but it's an easy ish job to blank it off. Do a search for egr blanking.

Re: In France - rear exhaust fallen off - advice appreciated

Depending on how far you have to drive, it may not be necessary. I've driven a few hundred miles without a back box with no issues in my diesel.

Re: Paint colour mis-match

This explains why my Bongo's three tone then! The rear half is a different shade of red to the front having been re-sprayed following arch repair and touch up.

Re: Exhaust Manifold Stud Repair in Kent

Sadly, I can't recommend a garage, but I would advise on ensuring they're aware of how to do it without disconnecting the coolant system. I had mine done recently and air was introduced into the system, which caused an overheat and a lot of hassle. Thankfully no head damage. There's a well put toget...

Re: 2 or 4 wheel drive

The only times I've thought 4WD would be useful would have been in the snow. However, I then got a set of winter tyres fitted, which made an enormous difference in winter conditions with my 2WD. Unless you live on a steep hill/lane or plan to do some serious winter or muddy driving, I can't see a ne...

Re: Flashing heater plug light.

Air lock in the coolant? Was it bled as per the instructions on YouTube?

I wouldn't have thought that would cause the heater plug light to flash though.

Re: Is 3 children plus bed possible?

If you've got child seats in the car, it's a tad unrealistic Yup - that's the biggest hindrance. We've got two kids (1 just under 5, the other nearly two) and all sleep in the Bongo + the dog in the driver seat when we have him camping). We have an adult in the roof with one and the other kid and a...

Re: cost for rear wheel arch replacement

I paid 1,500 for both sides using sprinter arches. The guy did a very thorough job (which I saw in progress). Painting cost 500 of that, but was the whole test end from front doors back. I'm chuffed with the job, but the price wasn't low.

Re: No. 1 manifold stud

Update. I phoned the garage, who advised to top the coolant up, get it warm and see how it goes. I told them that I was sceptical, but they also offerered to do a bleed off required (difficulty being getting the bongo go the garage for them to do this). So, I topped it up via the header tank, turned...

Re: No. 1 manifold stud

I didn't think the level being too high would be an issue and presumed (obviously incorrectly) that it had just been topped up to ensure that if the coolant dropped a bit (as had been suggested it might), that the extra in the tank would account for it. I relied on the coolant alarm to tell my if th...
