For obvious reasons. Internal demolition of the Bongo I will not be camping this weekend. Hopefully it will be back together by October

Re: LPG converters south of england
Not if they were trying to sleep in it at the time. PLUS there was no off switch. The roof stopped being watertight in Cornwall with two days of torrential rain.https://www.facebook.com/groups/friendeefreda/?multi_permalinks=10159409815635080&ref=notif¬if_t=group_activity¬if_id=150...

Re: LPG converters south of england
I use DIscount Trucks at Ashmansworth near Newbury. They changed the can belt on my V6 along with water pump and seals, two years ago. They are Bongo experts. Fred and Gerry are absolute experts. If they can't fix it, it probably can't be fixed. They have my V6 in at the moment with a leaking sun ro...

Re: Eastnor Castle 29-30 Sept Amended dates
Probably a no show. Bewilderbeast just checked into Discount Trucks with a leaking sun roof. It depends how drastic the treatment will be. It sounds almost comic, but it bucketed down in Cornwall and the head lining soaked up water and it was soon a very damp cold mess. Its a huge sliding glass sun ...

Book me in for this one. One person, one dog and one Bongo. If we have to leave early an early arrival will make up for it.

Re: Eastnor Castle 22-24 Sept
Interest in turning up for this one. I would prefer the later date if possible. The earlier one is just too close to the Looe meet

Re: Newbie post: Japanese Auctions, underbody water tanks, big tires, 4wd protection
I have a V6 Bongo with LSD and 17in wheels. Its very competent off road. Not to the standard of a Land Rover or Classic Jeep wrangler, but not much is. It has survived a New Forest Bog, not for the faint hearted, floods and rough tracks. Not sure if its up to the outback though. Daughter went round ...

Re: how to: auto power mirrors
Easy if you have a leisure battery. Transfer he mirrors to this circuit. Mine fold a the touch of a switch any time. Useful in tight spaces. I also have my electric sun roof connected in the same way.

Fitting a Fimma Caravanstore to a tin top
I have an almost new Fiamma Caravanstore awning to fit on to my tin top Bongo. It fits on to an awning rail but I am trying to find the precise bits to add the awning rail. Has anyone done this and can help with what is needed. Its a straight sided awning and a straight sided Bongo, so it should all...

Re: ARE INSURANCE COMPANIES TAKING THE P*** OR IS IT BREXIT ?
No. Camping and caravan club ate still very affordable for my converted Bongo. 321 Away rear conversion on a V6. The problem was that it is on a car policy, not a proper motorhome policy as I thought. The car policy leaves my NCB unavailable unlike a motorhome policy which leaves it free to use on a...

Re: ARE INSURANCE COMPANIES TAKING THE P*** OR IS IT BREXIT ?
Agree with you Adey. Had a nightmare with my insurance as well. Usually insurance companies are no problem. Sedate job, quiet postcode. Aged past boy racer but before senility. Today, taking the piss summed it up. Keeping the Bongo but adding a VW Beetle. On past experience no problem. Ones a car th...

Re: making an insurance claim and losing your ncb
Having a similar fun time with NCBs and more than one car. Have the rules tightened up recently. I have had two large engine high insurance group vehicles at the same time for ages. One high mileage for work, one my fun vehicle. Never had any problems with NCB before its always been mirrored to have...

Re: Off to Portugal Friday
Is it still your V6? They do last well. You have owned that even longer than my one. Nearly nine years. A rocker cover has recently gone on mine. Plus my first serious problem a tensioner seizing. But she survived amazingly. For a now classic car she's doing brilliantly. Perfect time to get out of t...
