When I say inactive they both go to earth, so you can check for that, then one relay will pulse to provide power in the correct direction to open/close the lock.

Re: sliding door electrical issues
I wouldn't unscrew them from the pillar/door it will just make alignment even more difficult. I've done it by measuring the voltages inside the door with the panel off. Re: sliding door electrical issues
Have you been able to check circuit continuity between the "B" pillar contacts and the door contacts when the door is closed ? I've heard of a couple of doors where the hanging of the door had been "adjusted" incorrectly which meant that the contacts didn't meet correctly height ...

Do be aware that the silicon based plastic pipes are to be avoided, they need a different style of compression clamp, the existing black rubber pipes use the constant pressure clips which means that that as the metal pipes expand and shrink with temperature the rubber and clip expa...

Re: Advice needed!!
This is becoming a common problem, with the vehicles getting older and older, if they have been undersealed corrosion is not always visible until its so bad it fails badly :-( There may also be a question about certain garages that carry out MOT's with "good" results, no personal experienc...
