Re: Rutland Water..... revisited...again

If we still have our Bongo then we will probably attend.

The last meetings were held on the large car park at Whitwell. No problems with space. Cost about 1.00 - 1.50 per vehicle. There are also things to do for the kids and a cafe.

Re: fiama awnings

We also have a Fiamma Zip awning with side and front and curtains. Great for winter or bad weather but heavy and bulky to transport. So for summer and warmer weather, as we almost never sit inside, we made a really effective, real cheapy. We bought a cheap set of gazebo front and sides, inserted a c...

Electric Hook Up in France.

We always carry a polarity tester and in the past have only occasionally found a hook up with reversed polarity. But this year we met it an all but two of the sites we stayed on. We found a new installation with EU connections that should have been OK, but it was not. We also found one new box where...

Campsites in France

There are always questions abut campsites in France. A few years ago we bought Le Guide Officiel Camping and Caravaning, which lists over 10,000 sites in France, from Vacarious Books and have used it ever since. We also have the International Camping Card which costs a few pounds and entitles holder...

Re: Another successful continental trip

Thanks for your comments Simon. We actually celebrated my 70th in Poland. I remember well sitting on the campsite and watching with wonder as the Bongo convoy came in. Hard to realise that that was five years ago. Yes decision made info already to Ian for the Bongo for Sale bit. All the same we have...

Another successful continental trip

Just back after nearly five weeks in France. Never a splutter cough or wheeze. Our eighth annual continental outing. Stayed on good campsites all the time varying in price from 30 euros a night, high season with family on coast by Bordeaux, to 7.61 euros a night at a municipal site in St Hilaire du ...

Cutting out whilst driving

Driving along at 60 when the engine just cut out. Started again on third attempt. This happened 9 times with shorter intervals. Any ideas what is causing this?

Can you afford to lose good cupboard space?
We have a 35ltr electric coolbox (Halfords) when we park up we pop it outside and connect to either the leisure battery circuit or the hook up. So any noise and ventilation is not a problem. When on the move it is connected to the main 12v battery.

Re: rear awning

Made one ourselves from 4 shower curtains and a little elastic. Not elegant, not drive away but takes a couple of minutes to put up and provides additional privacy for the potty  unlike some others where you can see the feet. Oh yes and the tailgate will close with it up.

Hi!

That's great :) .We have met before on the large car park at Whitwell. Cafe is usually open as is the bike hire shop. Parking is £1 per vehicle. Can we come along as well  . Worth taking bikes if you feel you can cope with some wind and potential ?cold.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c292/clumsy865/IMG-20120910-00054.jpg Hi, These wheels were originally on my Bongo when I bought it and I loved them but I took them off so I could refurb them properly. Unfortunately, time and other committments got the better of me and to cut a long story short t...
