Well - my new to me Freeda went for its first in my ownership test today. It passed. No advisories. Got a hint from my local ATS garage when I took it in to have a slow puncture repaired that the rear brake pads were overdue for replacement. Had them done just before the test. Having seen the old br...

Euro tunnel

Hi. Just looked on the euro tunnel booking site (in readiness to book using my tesco vouchers.) They have changed it and for grey imports you are asked if it is a car or campervan . Well as my vehicle - Ford Freeda - is not the same as my previous bongo I felt some clarification was needed. As my ve...

Re: My mpg and cost per mile

As the original poster I thought I would bring matters up to date. On another thread is the saga of my old 4 wheel bongo being written off and being replaced with a Ford Freda which is a 2 wheel drive. Surprising to me on a recent recorded trip my mpg was only 28 mpg. I don't think my driving style ...

Re: Overheating issues with a difference!

My Freda is home! New rear arches - partial respray looks rather nice. One issue that is really bugging me. My old bongo has a clear rear screen. My new one has a tint. I don't like the tint. It may have had the tint since new. I don't know. If it was an "extra" fitted in the factory is it...

Re: Overheating issues with a difference!

Thanks for the offer but as the Freda had a cylinder head issue I sourced a Haden alarm from bongo spares along with the head cambelt water pump and cruise control. It was fitted before the test drive. 1000 miles on all is OK. Car now at garage for welding rear arches respray and waxoyling should be...

Re: Overheating issues with a difference!

Yet another update. Solar panel and cruise control now done and working. I have also fitted one of them dash cams that fit on the mirror. All that wiring and getting it behind and above the headlining. Sore fingers! Threading the camera lead through the rear door another painful exercise but now all...

Re: Overheating issues with a difference!

Update (5) well I have struggled with the cruise control. A mixture of problems - dirty contacts and speed sensor connected to wrong terminal at back of binnacle! But now operational. Solar panel wired up and working. This leaves ........ fuel filter swap (bigger than original to accommodate my use ...

Re: Waeco MS 50 Cruise Control - Fitting

Hi, I have fitted and wired up all except the two brown wires that get connected to the brake light circuit. Any hints as to

Re: Overheating issues with a difference!

Back on the road. Freda taxed. Tested the bleeding operation (excuse the language) and all OK. Took the Freda up winnats pass (my usual test after a bleed) Great to be driving a proper car again.
