Thanks. I think I may forget all about it for a week then organise some assistance and try lift the roof.
I'll let you know how it goes.

Re: Roof Stuck Down
Thanks for the replies.
I'm assuming there is some sort of locking mechanism at the front which would have to be disengaged before attempting to manually raise the roof?
I suppose pressing the button during the initial part of the lift might do it, so that probably means three people :-)
Cheers ...

Roof Stuck Down
Hello,
I went to raise the roof last night for the first time since last summer.
Engine running, pressed the button, all the usual noises, beeping, motor whirring, things sliding. When the beeping stopped I released the button and looked up, the roof hadn't moved.

Re: CV Joint
I gave up after an hour wielding a big hammer and got the local garage to change mine too. They remove the driveshaft (I believe there is a circlip at the diff end) stick it in a vice and THEN belt the joint with a large hammer. They charged me £25, so when the next one is needed I'll just bypass ...

Bleedin' hose
Having been alerted to the possibility by this forum I had a peek at the bleed hose under the passenger seat. Eek! hanging loose and almost worn through.
I haven't seen this particular hose advertised anywhere, does anyone know of a source for a suitable replacement?
thanks
John

Re: Aaargh not having much luck- now revs are dropping after 30m
However it maybe co-incidence, but my bro, pulled up and unscrewed the diesel cap a little after a reading a post about fuel breather being blocked. - May just be luck but fortunately he just managed to get to the wedding with 5 mins to spare - Has anyone heard of this? Sound plausible, or just a ...

Mason Alarm
My bongo is currently with the supplier having a second hand gearbox fitted after I noticed that I had no drive to the front wheels a few days out of warranty.
I've just phoned to enquire how things were going and been told that I'd had a very narrow escape due to an incorrectly fitted Mason alarm ...

Hi jgm
I think you need verify your 4WD system.
It's easy.
You need to raise one (any) front wheel and with the help of dynamometer key turn it on 90 degrees with a force of 59 Nm or 6.0 kgf-m. If the turn of 90 degrees must be 30 seconds or more than viscus sleeve work. Another case change viscus ...

No 4WD
Following on from my previous thread.....
My 4WD isn't working.
I've just been out observing what spins with all 4 wheels on ice. One rear wheel and that is it. There are front driveshafts and a propshaft from the front diff disappearing into the plastic covers - too dark and cold and wet for any ...

well, it SHOULD be 4wd
Or at least it has front driveshafts.
About a week over a 3 month warranty too.
So I suppose this will be expensive will it?
cheers

4wd and snow
Hi
The background to this question is that I live high up in the pennines and we get a fait bit of snow. For the last 10 years I've had a succession of Subarus and not really thought about driving in the snow, just done it.
Anyway, had cause to drive the Bongo today with a few inches of snow on ...

Chassis plugs
Hi
I've recently bought a Bongo and after much poking around here I've answered all my recent questions apart from one.
I'm not sure how technical this is, but does anyone now where to get those little rubber plugs that seal the holes in the chassis? I've just had a waxoyling session and some ...
