Obvious one - have you pressed the button up in the roof?
Sorry if I'm talking rot, but it has been missed before.

Re: S661 AFF - My first Bongo
Trouble is we can't answer 'is it just the arches'?
They will need to be cut out and only then is more revealed. Maybe not too bad, may be very expensive.
Likely even a body shop can't quote until they see the true state of play.

Re: S661 AFF - My first Bongo
That’s a lot of rust related problems.
Personally I wouldn’t consider a six hour round trip until it has a new MoT, not even any advisories, and you need to be prepared to walk away if everything isn’t right.
Ideally an MoT from somewhere other than the garage who are doing the work.

Re: thinking of buying my first bongo need help please
Welcome aboard.
Good info from Geoff, bear in mind these are all getting on a bit so rust free is very important.
Depending on where you plan to use it is 4 wheel drive important to you? Some of the diesels are, none of the petrol ones.

Re: MAF sensor
Bit depends on 'they'.
Main dealers really don’t want to touch grey imports of any make, there are a lot of very fair independent garages out there.
Glad you’re sorted.

Re: Stuck in reverse
Worth jacking up and try to turn the stuck wheel, and is it 4wd?
Maybe jack both sides and try reverse and drive, don’t do this if it is 4wd.

Re: 2.0l petrol - Engine cut out - No warning
From memory the 2ltr is a 'non-interference' engine, so (fingers crossed) it doesn’t sound too bad.
Not what you need, though.

Yes, rust may well be hidden, and sadly structural.

Re: Repairing rusted Bongo - worth it or not?
It’s sadly not possible to say if the cost is worth it to you.
What I would do is caution you against supplying your own parts for a garage to fit. You can see the problem if the parts aren’t exactly right or there’s a warranty issue down the line.
Fitter says the parts were faulty, parts supplier ...
