Re: Finally dead and got to go.

PS Bongo is still in one piece and really does need to go.

It's current job is blocking a hole in a security fence - an embarrassing end for a Bongo.

Re: Finally dead and got to go.

Yes I know exactly what you mean now we've lost the plentiful free charging and parking locally the advantages have gone. Even so charging at HDC points or at home works out at about 7p/mile or 20+ miles per litre which = about 90mpg. 3x the best I achieved with the Bongo. But as you say the comfort...

Re: Finally dead and got to go.

Nope Tesco now charge 44p/kwh Peterborough started charging 70p/kwh and charged for parking whilst paying through the nose for charging - the council then realised that no-one, not even Prius Taxis was using their expensively installed chargers and they have now brought the cost down to a still exto...

Granny (or Children) Annex?

Found this when looking at motorhomes.

http://motorhomesltd.com/product/tiny-camping-pod/

Not advertising - I have no involvement with the company other than having bought a motorhome there.

Re: Finally dead and got to go.

I think my next adventure may be an electric car if i can afford one. I corresponded with Clive Sinclair with some ideas about them both before and after he announced the irrelevant C5 so have watched their progress for many years with interest. But right now, what a Bongo does is something I can r...

Re: Finally dead and got to go.

:D love it, it. It could only that way when it's run by the council. Fill your boots mate. Not really as I said in the other reply 3 local supermarkets offer free charging and Morrisons are supposed to be installing chargers nationwide. Rushden Lakes shopping centre has 16 chargers and 4 of them ar...

Re: Finally dead and got to go.

No chance Jan has got too used to 4.5mpKwh* instead of 30mpg if she was lucky. Let me know if you ever decide to visit the http://www.nvgc.org.uk/about.html * Approx 45mpLitre or 205mpg and that's only on the rare occasions we have to pay to charge. Peterborough has on street and car park charge po...

Re: Finally dead and got to go.

It died about a year ago and it's taken until now to decide euthanasia is the only kind ending. I now have a Transit, a Pick-up and the trailer I brought back from France inside the Bongo for the log and load lugging and the full-size motorhome for the camping, so the Bongo is now "sans raison&...

Finally dead and got to go.

Bongo has finally fatally failed. Just too much is needed, head/head gasket gone, climate control has packed up, wheel arches look like lace (as does the underneath) and now the side door won't open. However it has 16" alloys with goodish winter tyres, newish radiator, an unused set of silicon ...

On some the only thing that's original is the chassis number.

(No such thing as a VIN in those days)

They only ask about "use" not ownership or even "keepership" and I have use of the vehicles I don't insure all of them.

Re: insure and main vechile

Everywhere else I've ever used inc. Lifesure just asked about any other vehicles I use (a total of 6) but not which is the "main" one - a good job as well because there isn't a main one. Anyway how to define "main" - the one I use the most often, but do not do the most miles in, ...
