It's goodbye from Dobby

Well after thirteen years of ownership we've just sold the Bongo! Sad times but sold to a friend and colleague and off to a good new home and family this Sunday I just wanted to thank everybody for the unbounded help, support and friendship over the years. The Bongo has been replaced by a Berlingo. ...

Re: Starter motor contacts -winter pack

Hi All, It looks like my the starter motor contacts are going on my Bongo. I understand that the vehicles with the winter pack fitted have different starter with a different contact arrangement. Has anyone had success at getting parts to refurbish these starters, or can they just be cleaned up? I w...

I'm sure Ian Taylor told me that there was a real issue with steel quality at some point?

Re: Bongo 4wd refurb

I think you have to enable easy linking or something in the settings in PB and make sure that they're the right size. Suspect that Facebook will see the demise of forums and photobucket Works for me. Can others out there get it from Chris`s link? Looking on PB it says "simply" select the IMG c...

Re: Bongo 4wd refurb

I clicked on the link and then on the album in PB and eventually it said an error message and payment required.

This works as a slide show?

Mike, great idea. Look at it from the perspective of 10 years time, would you regret not doing it?

Re: Anyone fitted a Motorcycle rack?

Yep, I agree with Mike. Went all through the bike rack ideas for carrying my trials bike. Ended up with a trailer. Having said that though, loads of people fit racks to all sorts of cars and I'm pretty sure that the nose weights are even lower. I wouldn't risk it though for all the reasons stated ab...

Re: Garage not keen on fixing rear wheel arches??

Mine have been done by Ian Taylor over a period of time with bits being done every other year, unless you rip out massive sections and fabricate and modify to suit it's inevitable that rust will eek it's way through. On Facebook and here there are lots of posts showing some great work done by repair...

There's a firm on the Wirral mentioned in this post: http://igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=71774&p=676667&hilit=Merseyside+welding#p676667 I can recommend Ian Taylor in Longton, Stoke on Trent but you'd need to get it there and back so hopefully someone in merseyside would be better

 Thanks Rita,

just checked and the corrosion is in the history, the previous year references the seat belt mounts as well.
