Re: 2002 Diesel with random cutout & starting problems

from your description i would suspect the fuel pump seal and/or blocked fuel tank breather

Julian

Hi I have just had someone else mention the fuel pump seal. Do you know if the seal for a 2002 Diesel is the same as the seals on all the Diesel Bongo's?

Just ordered from AVA Leisure the seal but ...

Re: 2002 Diesel with random cutout & starting problems

I'm not familiar with the exact setup on the "fly by wire" Bongo injection system but I do know that the fuel pump relies on a signal from a potentiometer on the throttle pedal sending a signal to one of the ECUs. There's no throttle cable, so the correct signal is imperative. "Pumping" the pedal ...

2002 Diesel with random cutout & starting problems

Thought I would start a new thread as my last post was suggesting problems with bleeder pipes on the fuel tank and diesel cap. My bongo friendly garage has now found out that these are not my problem.

Here is a quick summary of the problems encountered;

Engine cuts out when hot and then is really ...

Tried to start it with the cap off and it fired up first time. Now could have been a fluke but it may be worth looking into! What do I do next??

Re: Cutting out when engine hot

If an answer can't be found on here, why not call Discount Trucks in Newbury for advice and - if the old girl can make the trip - a sortie over to them for a cure. If they can't fix it, not sure who could. It doesn't sound so much expensive as just baffling, and DC's charges are v reasonable i'm ...

Cutting out when engine hot

Hi got a 2002 Tintop which is completely baffling me. I have read other threads but not found the exact problem.

With the Bongo at normal operating temperature and under braking the revs drop well below the normal idle and the dash goes red & all power fails, including the power steering which is ...

2002 Tintop Question - No Fog Light

Just purchased a 2002 2.5 Diesel Tintop (un-converted) from a garage / importer based in Birmingham and Basingstoke. This was a recent import from Japan and is the first time it has been registered in the UK. Collected the car on Friday last week and have noticed one major problem and was wondering ...

Re: TPS Part Number - Help

Phone camera pics of the TPS opened up - you might just make out the polished marks on the tracks.

Re: TPS Part Number - Help

For what its worth markski, the tps isn't overhaulable - I tried to open it up but it seems to be injection moulded in one piece or very strong glue :( it ended up cracking but I did manage to see the worn part of the track - I'll post a pic soon.

That would be interesting as I can compare my old ...

Re: TPS Part Number - Help

A quick Google search revealed this:

Showing as out of stock, but might be worth a ring.

Already on the waiting list for any that they should happen to get their hands on.

Well the extreemly good news is I now ...
