Re: Disaster! Very ill Bongo - 2 litre

I would get in touch with Mike at Wheel Quick in Wigan 01942 217800 - I am almost certain that if the cambelt on a 2 ltr lets go there is no internal contact between the pistons and valves - you may just need a new cambelt. [-o< [-o<

Turbo Timer Question.

As the thread says - have got a turbo timer - well have had it for the last three years - now I am in a position to fit it as my immobiliser has died and I am having a new one fitted - the way the old one was wired in caused the immobiliser and the turbo timer to conflict with each other - the probl...

Re: No go,go slow 2.0 litre

If you lift the drivers seat you should be able to see the other end of the cable - press the pedal and see if the cable moves in the engine bay - if not the cable has seized and will need freeing off or replacing or it could be the linkage is seized. It does not seem to be a common problem but no d...

Re: Has anyone used these cheap rads??? more probs!!!

Can you get your van recovered to Plymouth and get him to fit a new rad and check your system over - it is known that a silted up rad can cause cooling issues - could this have been your problem ?

Re: 'FLAT' WIPER BLADES

Had the same problem as Dave with the rear wiper with a conventional blade - got around it by removing the wiper arm and bending the arm very slightly in a vice  so when the arm was refitted the spring was under more tension. It worked =D> so now I have a nice clean arc on my dirty rear windo...

Re: 'FLAT' WIPER BLADES

Just a little let you know - Asda are selling flat wiper blades at £3 each - they have multi fittings and they list Mazda cars on the fitment list on the back - picked a couple of sets of 24`s and 16`s up as you do - still got a spare set of Tesco flat blade wipers for when my current set start to w...

Re: Converting solild back seat to folding anyone done this?

I don`t think anyone has attempted to convert from a bench to flip ups as the amount of work involved is quite alot - the general consensus is if you really want a van with flip up seats is to buy a van with them fitted. Not much help am I #-o - but then again you could be the first to attempt it. :)

Re: Tailgate fuse keeps blowing?

It sounds like you have an intermittant short somewhere - you will need to check for damaged wiring - fuses normally blow for a reason - finding the reason is the hard part.

Re: rear view mirror

Be gentle when doing it as windsreens are expensive :( when I removed mine it was because the screen was being replaced as a nice Irish truck driver used my screen as target practice.

I couldn`t open the link either. #-o

Re: rear view mirror

You need to insert a small flat bladed screwdriver in the slot and then slide the mirror upwards - the part on the windscreen has a tensioned arm that you move towards the screen with the screwdriver. Hope this helps. :)

Very nice - there could be a long queue for his arches if he was to start selling them. :) I`d have a pair for the day the tin worm munched on mine. :)

Re: a novice fitting glowplugs

Hi, A smear of copaslip on the threads is a good idea and as you said screw the plugs in till finger tight and then nip them up - don`t overtighten them as it is an alloy head. I had one snap off - a dodgy plug not over tightened  - cost me a replacement head. :(

Re: Radiator Fan wont go off

If it is the radiator fans coming on - the ones under the bonnet - there is a sensor on the head just above the glowplugs that when you remove the plug the radiator fans will cut in - is this disconnected or loose or the wiring damaged. Hope this helps. :)

Re: To wrap or not to wrap?

I would get the rust sorted and painted - if you wrap it - it will still rot away underneath as the arches rot insideout :x - some of the wrap jobs I`ve seen on some vans with window pressings and waistlines are poor after a while as the vinyl lifts and the van looks shabby and it can`t be fixed wit...
