Re: anybody in this area?

Anna it is so lovely to hear from you :) I do think of you often, and wonder how you are doing. My parents moved so I rarely drive past your house any more. I'm glad to hear you have a camper van again and are thinking of meets. We still have our rusty old Freda (and, no I didn't mistype 'trusty' I ...

Re: Bongo is humiliating us

Thank you all for the suggestions. :) We are topping up the same amount (about an expansion tank full) every week whether the van sits on the drive or does a 200 mile round trip. I think the clips were replaced when the hoses were replaced a couple of years ago. I have been told by a garage the loss...

Re: Bongo is humiliating us

Thank you for all the advice :) We don't think the van is especially lumpy, just an old diesel. It may be condensation but there is so much of it, and it hangs about up the street  We do seem to lose coolant. All the pipes have been changes, and ADS Bongo checked for leaks and couldn't find an...

Bongo is humiliating us

Now that the mornings are cold our Bongo is producing plumes of white smoke. This morning it looked like we had a smoke machine in the back, you could see it all up the street behind us  We have had the head pressure tested and have been told there is no crack. We have had the smoke checked an...

Re: Can you tell what it is yet?

A swivelling passenger seat would make the Bongo pretty much perfect.
Maybe you could go into business fitting them for other people?? 8)

Re: Newbie in Bristol

I also found ADS knowledgeable and helpful. Griffin - I know where you mean and I think it is just a storage place too. They sometimes have bits of fairground ride there. I actually take the Freda to a 'normal' garage for MOTs. I would probably go back to ADS for anything complicated but it is a lon...

Re: Bongo parking bristol

There are a lot of multi storey car parks (with height restrictions  ) in that area. You could try the open air car parks behind the Council House, between Brandon Street and St Georges Road. They are a bit tight and popular so fill up quickly. If you don't mind a walk you could park near the ...

I'm really glad to 'see' you. How are you doing?

Re: hand brake warning light

Thanks everyone =D> Helpful advice as ever

We are now going to check the front and back brakes with a view to changing them before our next weekend trip.
I have printed off the fact sheet for reference.

Gosh this club is useful

Re: hand brake warning light

Our brake light came on in the Forest of Dean (a bit unnerving with all those hills...) There is nothing in the handbook (apart from contact the Mazda dealer) and I couldn't see a fact sheet about the brake fluid. So, what do we need to do if the light comes on? Do we need to top up the brake fluid ...

Re: Still got a coolant problem :(

Thanks for all the advice and help =D> I'll speak to Adrian when he gets home from work and we'll look at the options. The water pump problem mentioned by Harry is a possibility as it wasn't fitted by ADS but by the previous mechanic. I assumed ADS pressure tested the system but Kirsty could well be...

Shouldn't be...we had a new one fitted as the old one went bang.
I'll get Adrian to have a look at the weekend just in case though. Cheers Jaylee :)

Still got a coolant problem :(

Now we are really stuck. Last year we had a coolant problem and finally took the Bongo to ADS in Bristol (after lots of bleeding etc). They changed a lot of hoses and checked the head. We have only used the Bongo about once a fortnight since, so it has done less than 100 miles since then. We checked...
