Thanks winchman. I will try this. However, I did put a new alternator in this morning and hey Presto charge and sediment lamp test now ok. Good charge over main battery as well. But...the charge and sediment lights are dim during the lamp test. Would this be a symptom of a poor earth?

Ok...yeah, my replace was non standard but was assured by the supplier it was fit for purpose and a direct replacement. Thanks Dave...I see what you mean. It won't pass as it stands. I'll get a new switch for the rear fogs today and fit it. Can't see how it went through it's last MOT though. Must have been a "friday afternoon" one!

Cool. Thanks for the quick response. My switch was permanently illuminated when the headlights were on. It also has front fog lights factory fitted. So quick 10 mins with the multimeter and I've rewired the swtch so it now only lights up when the fog lights (front and rear) are switched on. Phew ...

Hello all.....Bongo failed MOT today due to a problem with the fog light (Duff connection). Fixed that now and will get a retest tomorrow. However, he did say that there should be a tell-tale/warning light on the dash to show the lamp is illuminated. I can't see one on mine. Has anyone else come ...
