Looks like our old bongo is still going looking at MOT and road tax status. Did see it a couple of years ago and it still looked good.

A long time ago

Dec 2017 we sold our bongo. It was like we had lost a pet. We replaced it with a new VW t6 camper but 4 years on it's still not the same. Good to see bongos are still well loved and forum is going strong.

Membership renewal

It's membership renewal time. Not had a bongo now for nearly 2 years. Our bongo was a massive part of ours and our dog Sophie's lives. Bongo has gone and Sophie our dog had gone We now have a VW T6 which for both of us is not as good a replacement as the bongo we had. If they still made bongos we wo...

Re: Time to say goodbye..... or NOT!

We had ours for a long time. Do we miss having a bongo? Yes we do. We have never had a vehicle as practical/versatile as a bongo and if they were still made we would have got another a lot newer. Instead we went down the VW route which is good and practical but the bongo was very special. We both mi...

.

Replace them all at the same time and it will be like a new vehicle. When doing antiroll bar bushes it's worth replacing the brackets at same time.

Re: Side door soft close not working

Have you cleaned all the contacts. Had to do ours once with a bit of fine wet and dry grit paper. Was surprised it did work then.
It may also just be the door post block it's self. Took ours off door pillar cleaned connections behind, think more than likely it will be poor or loose connection there .

Re: 215/65/15's all round ?

We put same size all round on for 10 years we had bongo, never had any problems. We put them on as with 195 front wheel size we could only get van tyres plus wear on edges was quite bad. This disappeared with same size all round.

Re: Heater only working at 32.0C and not below that....

In the dash there is a sensor. Think it is below heater controls centre bottom left. Can't look now don't have bongo anymore. This sensor can be taken out and cleaned. A lot of fluff accumulates in front of it. That should cure problem, had to clean ours a couple of times over the years for same pro...

We bought one from here many years ago. Was good quality and has metal pipes, our original one with plastic pipes had failed.

Re: Diesel switch off before full warm up....

Don't think short no warm up journey any problem for diesel bongo. Had ours for a lot of years, every morning short journey to take dog for a walk. Never had any problem with with engine due to this. Avoiding cooling issues I think the 2.5diesel engine is a brilliant engine

Re: Daughter looking for a Bongo

If it is a bongo that has mot history, check online for any advisories, failures ect. You will get an idea of rust problems here. Recent imports should be no problem.
