used resistor of E-Bay for a £10 , two hours work and plenty of lube

The fan turns but not spins freely but needs quite a bit of pushing to turn it.

Help needed
Driving along yesterday , smell of plastic burning lasting 5 seconds, thought it was from outside .
Today front heater/blower not working :cry:
Could it be a fuse :?: how do I start looking and where :oops:

Can't really add much to what others have said, but I had the same symptoms and it was the battery. The fully-charged battery read fine with a volt meter and hydrometer, but the cranking capability was failing - it couldn't deliver the power quick enough to work the starter properly every time. As has been said many times before, unless you know exactly what is already in there it isn't "safe" to top up with anything else. Not all anti-freezes will mix and some can cause disastrous problems if mixed because their compositions are totally incompatible. E.G. This sort of problem. ...

Topping up with coolant/anti-freeze

My Resevoir tank is just below "low" on a cold engine.
Can i top up with coolant/antifreeze to the full level rather than a complete change and what is the best coolant to use :?:

There is no obvious leak just evaporation of water i hope.
