Re: Stainless steel /chrome wiper blades

Oh well cheers.... =D> Yes it can be quiet on here these days! Facebook groups are good for asking questions though FB is crap at allowing you to find the same question asked by others! The Bongo world would be a better place if everyone had stayed on here tbh imho! If anyone is doing them I would ...

Re: Wow!!

I said i'd update on another thread..though i think it would have been missed by many. I cannot believe how much difference a new atf filter and atf fluid change has made! I was suffering from jerky gearchanges especially 1st to 2nd gear quite fierce infact and throughout the drive everything felt ...

Sorry about that. It's Thursday 26th September.
Ah! No worries and thanks. Can't make it sadly as I'm committed elsewhere. If its appropriate, please pass on mine and Trish's condolences and best wishes to Dot - she's one great lady.

Intrigued as to what could cause the gauze filter to start breaking up ? Was there much debris that could cause damage to it?
I was wondering likewise Geoff

Re: Passing of a friend, Alant54

For those of you going to the cremation and wake, meet 2pm at The Roundhouse pub, 121 Heath Road South, Weston, Runcorn WA7 4RP at 2pm. This is opposite Alan & Dee's house. Will depart about 2.30pm to go to Walton Lea Crematorium, Chester Rd, Walton, Warrington WA4 6TB. Service is at 3pm. Back to T...

Re: Overheating - Looking for troubleshooting steps

Thank you Bob and Mike. I am located near Land's End in Cornwall; it is ok, I will speak to Allan tomorrow and hopefully have my van shipped to him this week. I will keep you updated, albeit there might be a small wait until there's a diagnosis. I have only owned the Van for 4 months, but there's o...

There's a recommended garage near Bodmin, too.

Sorry, can't think of the name.
Pitstop Motors is it? But clearly, Discount is not nearer!

Re: Overheating - Looking for troubleshooting steps

Hi Mike, thank you for the reply. I will of course keep you updated, albeit it might be a week until I have a diagnosis. Allan and I chatted over messenger yesterday and he is back at work tomorrow so I will have a better idea soon. Just looking at recovery trucks as we speak, it is an 80 mile jour...

Re: Broken down

Bad luck. Sounds most like an engine management thing but hopefully AA man will have thoughts. Is yours new enough to have a plug in diagnostics port? Like Bob say, the 2l is supposed to be the least complex so hopefully it'll be sorted without scary cost. Fingers crossed for you, and keep us posted...

Re: Overheating - Looking for troubleshooting steps

You won’t do better than getting it to Allans 2nd what Haydn says. If you're close enough to Allans to get it to him you're a (relatively!) lucky man. He knows Bongo's inside out and understands and shares peoples passion for them. He should give you an expert considered view on what the best thing...

Re: about to be written off.

Rotten luck. :( Remeber it's yours. The insurance company can only take/buy it off you with your consent at an agreed value. You may prefer to sell salvage to someone like Bongo Spares, you may prefer to repair or you may decide to sell every single part on flea bay. Depends on the time/space/deter...

Re: Overheating - Looking for troubleshooting steps

The oil around the diesel pump should only be diesel fuel oil which has no connection with coolant system. Also, I've not heard of a Bongo gasket/head problem that results in coolant in engine oil system. As a rule I think the consequence is cylinder pressure forcing gases into the coolant stream (h...

Re: Overheating - Looking for troubleshooting steps

Okay, i made some progress today. I have ascertained that when the Bongo is taken for a short drive there is a big build up of pressure and the upper radiator pipe and the pipe going into the engine under the driver's seat is rock hard. This happens after a few minutes. I watched as coolant was for...

Re: Delayed shift up through 1st 2nd and 3rd N reg bongo

Thanks for that, will try this first and keep you posted Probably should have already tried this, as it was working perfectly before the work, seems likely something that was done is the issue. Was only the chap who did the fuel pump insisting that him tightening the accelerator cable could in no w...
