Re: Roof boxes

All I can say is that, should you decide that 6 wheels turning is ok, and you can store one, nothing makes life more 'hook up and go' (and provide out of vehicle storage on site) than something like this: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F293117104758...

Surely Silly, scrumpy sups more scintillatingly? Ahem...wrong thread...do we need some rules?! Ah yes....Rules....I think we have some of those somewhere. Not seen 'em around Bongoville for a long time mind you. I suspect Bob interred them in a scrumpy orchard one night in a drunken rag...

Re: Roof boxes

Hi sotal. Newbie on here browsing for roof box and bike carrier tips, in case I have some loose change when my van reappears from MOT-land in the coming week. Really good to have found your response in this thread which directly answers my roof box question (my AFT is factory fit with the 4 mountin...

Re: Time to say goodbye..... or NOT!

We had ours for a long time. Do we miss having a bongo? Yes we do. We have never had a vehicle as practical/versatile as a bongo and if they were still made we would have got another a lot newer. Instead we went down the VW route which is good and practical but the bongo was very special. We both m...

Re: Leisure Battery Fitting

Has anyone seen a video or set of instructions (with illustrations) explaining how to fit a leisure battery in a bongo? It would need to be aimed at beginners. Thanks Karl Baes Chadwick does good kits that I BELIEVE include idiot proof instructions. He can be found on Facebook so you could check wi...

Re: Bike Rack

These are so plentiful and cheap on ebay.... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F273874854730 ...that given the feeding frenzy and cost of bagging a Thule it could be worth getting one for now if you are struggling to source a reasonably priced Thiule. ...

Re: Uneven idle

Had this on my 2.0L someone had previously messed about with screw at the bottom of the TB which alters the air fuel mixture and should not be touched, there are posts on here documenting how to sort it by 'locking out the ecu' while adjusting the revs with the screw. Failing that possible vacumn l...

Bottles of Avon Skin so Soft purchased. Smidge! If you go to the legendary Nevis Sport outdoor shop in Fort William and ask them for the best insect repellent they will tell you Smidge. But not everyone agrees. Mrs Bongo gets bitten even when covered in 100% Deet. Have a look at this for a discussi...

.....although the specification for an AFT Bongo is arguably streets ahead of a VW of similar vintage. As Mikexgough used to say on here:

Yer pays yer money and takes yer choice

(I believe he's still trundling around happily in a beautiful and well maintained vintage Bongo) \:D/
