Re: How Many Hook Ups Are Left?

Mike, I don't think you can arrive before noon on the Wednesday. Ah! All these years I've laboured under the illusion us pensioners could loll about there all week. #-o  Bob (and Muz) - are you getting down there for Wednesday? I'm toying with getting New Dawn to fit a reversible seat whilst t...

Important milestone reached. We have now sold 150 slots for the Bash and there's still 2 months to go!

Re: Off to Scotland

The wee-beasties are the enemy of every living thing. A lot of people don’t like DEET but this stuff takes some beating: https://www.lifesystems.co.uk/products/insect-repellents/expedition-100-plus-spray?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1b-gsLvW4QIVTlXTCh2XZgljEAQYAyABEgI3R_D_BwE Muz Jr resorted to a more traditi...

Always park up / camp where there is a breeze not in a sheltered place under the trees. Depending on the season May and June are midge ok on the West Coast....
Good advice. Breezes and coolness reduce their presence, and sea breezes on the coast may work on hot days when its calm inland.

Re: Off to Scotland

Good point about fuel Bob - i recall it being significantly dearer in many places so that the temptation to hold on for a cheap one was great. Tempting to take a jerry can of diesel next time ;-)

Re: Off to Scotland

And, being boringly practical, read up on the midge issue and take plenty of Smidge (or one of the other effective midge protection sprays).

Re: The inevitable tin worm!

I agree teenmal - its those who expect the Bongo to be a cheap and maintenance free mount that get a shock when the MOT failure happens. You have to take an interest in them, and be realistic.....or else :?

Re: The inevitable tin worm!

Arches aren't structural so within reason rust on them is not an MOT failure. I've held rust back on mine using glasscloth and resin techniques for several years now though i have to revisit each year is cos its a losing battle. The reason i do it is that i've been advised by people i trust that eve...
