Re: N54 NCW
Nice to know it is serving you well Mike. A friend has a Toyota Alphard V6 converted to LPG, we both looked at them when Wheelquick started importing them, I would have bought one but there was no towbar made for them at the time.

Re: N54 NCW
Thanks for that Ian. I’m well Mike, nice to see you are still here. I part exchanged the Bongo against a nearly new top of the range Honda CRV at just under £30,000, 4x4 cream leather and too many computer aids that I still can’t master. The car is great and on a holiday to Northumberland returned e...

N54 NCW
Hi all been a while since posting here.
Anyone here know about or have my old Bongo N54 NCW?
It is taxed and tested.
As older members will know it had a homemade conversion and twin tanked to run on 100% veg oil.

Re: lowered suspension
What you need to know is the standard spring rate, you can then calculate the spring rate of the shorter spring, and you only need a few measurements to do this. You do need to keep the front to rear rates close to the standard as a percentage as possible. http://www.reliablespring.co.uk/calculator...

Re: Intermittent power loss
Try removing the banjo filter, the little bu**er can look clean but still cause problems. If that doesn't cure it check the TPS (throttle position sensor).

Hi Mike, I don't get back here to often lately. Sorry to read about your problem, I went down the same route with my coolant loss. Gauge showed no pressure rise in the system, undertray removed and cardboard under the Bongo in the garage with no damp overnight, U V dye showed no sign of leak, bottl...

Re: Coolant Level dropped a little - Should I be worried?
O dear did all the research we did on the cooling system disappear in the mist of time.
Haydn provided the answer within an hour and half of the post.
Personally I only use 30% anti freeze so dilution of 50% in our climate is not a problem.
Advice, fit a coolant alarm.

Ok, do you want the good news first? Can you weld it………yes you can………..will it distort…………maybe. Can you braze it…….. yes you can………..will it distort…………maybe, but less chance. Can you solder it…… yes you can………..will it distort…………maybe, but not likely. Can you JB weld it in situ….. yes you can………...

Just been there Mike after modifying a set of Suzuki GSXR throttle bodies to fit on my Kawasaki ZZR 1100.
Older carb engines respond well to colortune but modern management systems provide real time response by data logging exhaust gas (oxygen contant) in milliseconds.

12.5/1 was aimed for when power tuning with petrol Mike. Stoichiometric ratio. This is something I ponder, as older cars ECU’s running closed loop try to keep the mixture at “stoichiometric ratio” is the car running hotter and using more fuel? Modern fuels have up to 10% ethanol if the ECU keeps th...

Re: Bongo Fury Neweletter - Diesel Vehicles- Politics
Retro fitting a regenerative system from an engineering point of view isn’t too difficult, controlling it needs a lot of money throwing at software. Look at how F1 have problems with rear wheels locking up under braking as the computer struggles to balance the two systems. So you manage it and the ...

Re: Oil Pump Priming & Gummed Piston Rings 2.5wlt
Old hard drive are a good source of very strong magnets I use them on my old British motorbike as filtration is non existent. Are you using cheap oil to bed things in? Running to high a percentage of veg when cold can cause ring gumming due to incomplete combustion on start up. I do think your oil ...

Re: Lumpy idle when cold
Lumpy startup, lets explore that. It is unburnt fuel. And running a mix allows unburnt veg to get onto the bores and then into the piston ring grooves, this can then gum up piston rings reducing their efficiency or worse. Running veg as a mix is ok as long as the engine is running fine, personally ...
