Re: AFT Not Going Up

Thank you Geoff, that is just what I needed. I can see that the reason I could not find it is in the title 'Auto Free Top'. I was looking for a title which included the word 'roof'.
Having now read the factsheet I find it is not specific enough which bolts need to be freed. Having already lifted the ...

Re: AFT Not Going Up

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately, it has not helped.
I have renewed my subs this year and have been a member continuously for over 12 years. I have searched through the members area and still have not been able to find this elusive document. That is why I asked if someone could clearly tell ...

Re: AFT Not Going Up

I have this problem. I have read this thread and may others which mention that they had referred to the help sheet/ factsheet to lift the roof after undoing 10, 12 or 14 nuts. Does such a publication exist as I have spent a long time searching for it but not found anything of the sort? If it does ...

Re: Leaking Injector pump

Hi playnotwork,

I did try the acetone treatment at the dosage recommended on this forum. It made no difference to my leaks.
I had the pump refurbished by a specialist company straight away afterwards.
Regards.

Re: Leaking Injector pump

I replaced the other usually troublesome seals a few years ago. I do intend having all seals replaced soon even if the acetone is successful.
I have never used as much as a 50/50 mix of veg oil and diesel nearer 25/75 or thereabouts.

Re: Leaking Injector pump

I have used a mix of veg oil and diesel in the past but not veg oil only. Currently as the price of diesel is relatively low I have been using diesel only.

Re: Leaking Injector pump

Hi Thanks everyone for the advice.
There seems to be some doubt about replacing the seal insitu, I was hoping for a resounding yes dozens of bongoliers have done this sucessfully.
All is not lost though as, as usual, this forum has provided sound advice to be cautious about the operation insitu and ...

Leaking Injector pump

My 1995 Mazda Bongo has a leaking Injector pump, the leak appears to be coming from between the pump body and the distribution head (a common fault I understand). I recently saw a post which suggested that this could be repaired insitu :D replacing the 'O' ring seal by carefully only loosening the ...

Re: Not starting following replacing Injector pump seals.

Hello everyone,
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions.
Having put the parts back in place I was still not getting the bongo to run.
Self priming was not working. I disconnected the fuel line from the filter put a small funnel in the end lifted it up so it was above the injector pump and poured ...

Re: Not starting following replacing Injector pump seals.

Hello all,
thank you all for your suggestions so far.
Tripewriter said Hmm Just read your post again!! The 4m/m pin? where did that come from?

On the side of the pump nearest to you, you have the springs with shims in the top hat and at the top of the spring what looks like a 10m/m bottle cap with ...

Not starting following replacing Injector pump seals.

I am hoping that those of you with experience of this operation will be able to advise me where I have gone wrong.
Having followed the factsheet I have replaced the two seals front and back of the injector pump. Incidentally the Mazda dealer didn't sell the seals but the local injection specialist ...
