procedure for repairs after an accident
We have a 2003 2.0lt petrol in black and someone has just reversed their tow bar through the grille :( The number plate is cracked and the paint on the bumper is scratched. The police have contacted the woman responsible and she's admitted doing it and making off. I've now got to contact her and dis...

Re: Think we need a new head :( anyone recommended?
Well, despite much of what's said and what a couple of garages told us, I didn't want to believe it was the head gone. So, I changed the rad cap, stat and water pump. Then, I followed the youtube videos about how to properly bleed the Bongo. And............since then, the van has been perfect, for 2...

Re: Question on wiring in a Coolant Alarm
Sorry to hijack your thread but I hoped I could ask a question -
Is it just a normal screw that goes into the expansion tank and how come it doesn't leak coolant out?
Thanks!

Think we need a new head :( anyone recommended?
It looks likely that we've got a cracked head due to the usual overheating nightmare.
Unfortunately our local mechanic won't be able to do it for a few months but we need the Bongo fixed!
Anyone recommended around Scarborough/York way that might be able to do such a job?

Re: roll call for Yorkshire and North East
At long last, I can join the Yorkshire roll call, having been in Bristol for too many years!
Originally from Sheffield myself, and Sophie Bristol - but now in (mostly) sunny Scarborough.
Seeing one or two up this way an looking forward to some more northern waves!!

Re: Top Speakers
Good bit of help with getting the door panels off in the central locking factsheet, in the members section. Once they're off you can do what you want to the speakers!

Re: Have I broken my handbrake??
Panic over!
I undid the trim and found that the other end of the rod - that the button screws in to, had jumped out of the ratchety bit!
Bit fiddly getting it back in place though it was more a matter of luck than skill I think!

I was only playing with it a bit and the button sort of pinged off  Now the handbrake doesn't erm, brake and the button doesn't work. Could someone please tell me how to fix it?? Perhaps this should be in the Breaking Bongos section  http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4031/4523341622_69ac5506...

Oil change and copper washer
I'm going to change the oil and filter on the van shortly.
I've read that I should change the copper washer when I do it.
Anyone know what size washer I need before I take it all apart??
