Farewell!
This is just a post to say farewell as after thirteen years of Bongo ownership I'm bowing out. Despite all the years of ownership I had no serious issues and the minor ones were not a real worry, or expensive either. The van came to the end of it's utility as a camper a long time ago as it became to...

EGR Blanking Plates
I decided to fit EGR blanking plates to my diesel Bongo, but was unable to remove the rear bolts, the ones firmly rusted in to the cast iron exhaust manifold. The forward bolts into the alloy inlet manifold came out easily. My question, I know the plates come in pairs but would it be ok just to blan...

Re: Clunk.
Just a sad update, just checked the droplinks whilst changing a water pipe, I've done less than 10,000 km and 15 months, all four rubber boots on new droplinks perished to the point of being split, I'm on borrowed time. Less than impressive E-bay purchase. You have been warned.

Front heater fan.
The front heater fan on my Bongo has started to whine recently, is it possible to re grease the bearing, or am I looking at a sealed unit which will have to be replaced at around £185?

Sills/Front Crossmember
My offside sill has rotted badly and needs replacing/repair, would I be correct in thinking that Barnsley Auto Panels are the only supplier of a repair panel? The same goes for the front cross member but can anyone suggest a repair panel source?

Re: Clunk.
Thanks for the pointers, ordered front droplinks, ARB bushes and brackets from E-Bay, total cost £40.50. Fitted this evening, Clonk gone. Fitted at 153716km, now to see how long they last!

Clunk.
My Bongo has developed a clunk when driven slowly over an irregularity in the road at slow speed. At a quicker speed it is not so obvious. I have tried listening with the window open, but that was inconclusive, I suspect the noise is travelling through the body of the vehicle. I think it's front dri...

Re: Day meet 7th Nov Llanberis, N Wales
The 28th of November is a possibility, apart from being the day after the annual pilgrimage to the NEC Birmingham for the motorbike show. The 21st of December is a non starter being a weekday. The usual caveats of work/children/etc etc still apply.Time will tell.

Re: Day meet 7th Nov Llanberis, N Wales
Looks like I missed a good day out but as I expected the well known national company that I work for have invoked their newly aquired right to impose compulsory overtime, again! Not because of any dire emergency but because of the managerial levels being unable to organise a cocktail party in an off...

Re: starter motor I think ? 2.5td tiin top
Did mine last weekend with a kit from E-bay, under £15 delivered, with illustrated instructions. Once you see the old contacts it will be obvious if they are worn. It took me longer to get the bolts holding the starter out than it did to replace the contacts.

Think I may pop over to introduce myself, allowing for work/wife/kids/disasters, so when and where exactly?

Re: Leaking radiator
It would have been a bit pointless asking for advice and recommendations and then ignoring them, so I bought a radiator from JAS, total cost £153.50. It looks identical to the original and as mentioned that loose auto box cooler pipe is a bit odd. I tried to follow the "Fact Sheet" way but...

Leaking radiator
Yes it's Friday the thirteenth, and it looks like my radiator has gone. It seems to be leaking from the "crimp" join betwen the upper plastic piece and the metal core of the matrix Top front offside of radiator. Is this the normal way these rads fail? I've just had a quick look on E-bay an...

EGR.
I've had oil staining at the offside front of the head area of my 2.5 diesel for a couple of years now which I took to be a slight cylinder head leak, but whilst browsing the forum came across a thread which seemed to suggest it may be EGR gunge causing the mess. Two questions, firstly, what exactly...

Re: towbar
I fitted an "A1 Towing" towbar to mine, no issues, just mark and drill. The vertical bolt when fitted bolt head up and nut down as it were did not require any trimming to the plastic strip covering it as there was enough clearance. Good value bar at around £80, including electrics, deliver...
