Ahoy!
These levers rattle noisily. Is it just a case of tightening up the nut on the cables? I know I can 'suck it and see' but thought I'd ask before I get off my arse and get the toolbox out.
Cheers

2.5 DT: Lazy Temperature Gauge and Topping Up Coolant
Hi all
97 2.5 Diesel. Two related questions:
1. My temperature gauge has started barely working. It climbs from below the baseline marker to just about on it - so barely a couple of mm. The engine and rad etc, was replaced 6 months ago in Oct-24 by a Bongo specialist, and it has been finding 1100 ...

Re: Electrics: Hold Light irregular Flashing, Speedo not working
I think I have found an explanation on the Clinic questions under speedo. I will pass that to my Bongo engineering team! If I try and fix this I will probably end up disrupting the time/space continuum or worse! :?

Re: Electrics: Hold Light irregular Flashing, Speedo not working
Yes the ECU reports that there is a fault by flashing the Hold light, you then need to readout from the diagnostic socket the actual errors that are being reported. If your a member then see the Fact Sheet in the members area or there is a web site that gives some info on early models http://www ...

Re: Electrics: Hold Light irregular Flashing, Speedo not working
I had a similar problem with the rev counter working intermittently and speedo being erratic then they both stopped working, I ordered a ne sensor from aliexpress about £12 , takes 5 minutes to swap and had no problems since
Hi Bazzog - I will give that a go. If you have got a link to the ...

Electrics: Hold Light irregular Flashing, Speedo not working
Hi all Merry Xmas, etc!
Went out cold this morning and the gearbox HOLD light started irregular flashing as if a loose wire was causing it. The gearbox was not in Hold at all and the Hold button was not responsive (i.e. I couldn't get it into Hold if I wanted to). Also the Speedo was not working ...

Re: Head blown - dilemma
Thanks Geoff. Yes it's a diesel. Just the head, not entire engine. Looking at the other posts and factoring in inflation as you say, I think the cost is reasonable. In for a penny in for £2500 quid

Head blown - dilemma
Hi all
Please can you give me your view of a quote for cylinder head replace and associated work?
The head's blown. As per my previous post there was a coolant issue after a coolant pipe was changed by my
Bongo specialist. Suspicion was the system wasn't topped up sufficiently and also needed ...

Re: engine etc - general cleaning and maintenance
Thanks H. Good advice there and appreciated.
Ref the pipework, I have had a bit of a mare with that. First an AFT leak was fixed by my local garage with a rubber hose, then the power steering leak was fixed in the same way. They advised that permanent repairs would be required. So, off to my not ...

engine etc - general cleaning and maintenance
Hi all
Can anyone give me some advice on general engine cleaning, oiling, greasing and saving the mechanical bits and pieces. Here is a picture of the engine bay under the drivers seat. Ignoring the low power steering fluid - as you can see everything is generally rusty and dirty. What would someone ...

Re: Temp Gauge not working - which sensor to replace?
Thanks both. Another stupid question:
Why are there two different part numbers for the Heat Gauge 18-510 on the index? Is one for the petrol and one for the diesel variant?
JE151851X and KL011851X
Many thanks
Mike

Temp Gauge not working - which sensor to replace?
Hi
My temperature gauge has stopped working (since a coolant leak was fixed funnily enough). Any idea which sensor needs to be replaced, or is it both of them?
Sorry if this has already been asked. I did find a thread but the links were dead so I couldn't see which one
