Re: Radio switched supply

There in lays the confusion. Reboot is the same as on-off. Reset is when settings are lost. Mine just reboots, ie, turns on and off. It dies not reset. Plan would be to capacitor bridge the acc supply to just the radio by putting the capacitor after a diode on the wire that only supplies the radio t...

Re: Radio switched supply

Both supplies are working as designed. Problem is the acc gets interrupted while cranking. The drop in ACC is the signal that tells the radio that it should turn off. Have not managed to find a switched ACC supply that is not interrupted while cranking so will probably just add a capacitor and diode...

Re: Radio switched supply

Yep. Just turns ACC off when cranking so radio turns off then back on so has to reboot. Probably going. To add a capacitor and diode to bridge the gap if it gets too annoying.

Radio switched supply

The radio on the Bongo goes on and off with the key. It comes on at first click ACC and goes off when you turn off and take the key out. However when cranking the ACC supply is interrupted press so the radio reboots. Could wire it up to a permanent live but then risk leaving it on and flattening a b...

Re: Heater control removal

With the radio out (which I had to do anyway) and the dash surround off it all got a lot easier. Also removed the 2 cables off the co trial box which you can get to easily from the driver and passenger foot wells.

Heater control removal

How do the analogue heater controls come out of the dash? I’ve taken off the little covers, released the spring catches through the round holes. The left hand side seems to move ok the right hand side feels like something is holding it back on the rear. Comes forward a bit then stops. Before I strip...

Door speaker replacement.

I will shortly be upgrading my rubbish cheapo double din head unit with a decent pioneer one. Will probably end up replacing the door speakers too. Looks like a pair of 6” coaxial will fit with a bit of a trim to the mounting plate. Do these usually foul the door card? All the info on the forum is a...

Re: window switches

Bridges the broken track and now all working. And around the right way. Guess a rogue door wire caused it to blow but far too cold to be messing with stiff wires. Will just have to pretend it’s not a problem for now!

Re: Remote central locking

Any recommendation for a modern replacement which I can just splice in rather than have to add new actuators etc?

Re: window switches

So.... The operation was a success but the patient died!! I have a short piece of loom that is used to intercept the earth for the central locking so a handy place to perform the swap. So initially pulled out green+ red/blue pair (driver window motor) And the Orange + Red/white pair (passenger windo...

Quarterlight replacement

My quarter light recently got smashed. I’ve got a spare from bongo spares but couldn’t find anything online about how to change it. I’ve changed mine and it’s not too bad a job. Hopefully the video I made of the Job is attached to this post. In summary, Door card off, speaker off, wind the window do...

window switches

My bongo has at some point had the window switches replaced with the 323 version so switches operate around the wrong way. Looking at the wiring diagram it looks like I can "just" swap the 2 pairs of wires (Orange + red/white with green + red/grey) over on teh edge of the connector and it ...

Remote central locking

My remote central locking has never worked. If you do the key/door on/off thing it never does the latch to put itself into learning mode. I recently had to take the door-card off and found a module installed behind the door card which looks like a retro-fit remote unit. Anyone know anything about th...
