Re: Struggling with hills at speed

the saga continues. Had a new exhaust manifold fitted, picked her up yesterday - the power issue is worse than it was before! Now I struggle getting up any kind of incline and Rev counter not going past '2'. Very frustrating, as I don't know if the garage have made it worse somehow or not etc. (yay ...

Re: Struggling with hills at speed

Yep, she is going back next week. In the meantime, I had a look at the Turbo - looks like there is a bit of a leak where the bottom connects to whatever the big rubber hose is. Not enough to drip, but definitely oily! Maybe that is the issue. I have also just checked our other Bongo (which has no ac...

Re: Struggling with hills at speed

Had service done as she was due a service, anyway. Fuel filter, air filter etc. done. Unfortunately, that did not solve the issue :( I still hit a 'forcefield' when accelerating uphill (even the slightest incline) or trying to overtake even the slowest of lorries. Accelerator all the way down, but n...

Struggling with hills at speed

After various replaced bits, Belinda is running much much better! But, she looks to struggle going fast uphill. Was on the A road with trailer this morning, struggled to keep her at 45/50 mph with the accelerator all the way down (tried jiggling it etc). I am guessing she simply could not go up a ge...

Belinda, the gift that keeps on giving

THANK GOODNESS she was very much on the cheap side :) despite a freshly passed MOT (advisories where done by the seller, have seen receipts), new cambelt and other belts and a new water pump ... thus far I have ... (in less than two months) - replaced suspension (did not enjoy being boinged onto the...

Re: Gearbox Solenoid Pack - change

oh yikes :( sounds like a bit of a headscratcher. Neither garage not gearbox centre found anything. Where would one even look?

Re: Gearbox Solenoid Pack - change

Not that I'm aware of! The speed it reads does not tally with km/h either. The garage swapped out for a new clock and couldn't find anything weird. I also checked the odometer yesterday, That one is in km for sure. Had a good look at tyres as well, they're all 15, same specs all around. They do need...

Re: Gearbox Solenoid Pack - change

I certainly don't want to do any harm

The speedo is still being weird, but at least I figured out that 25mph on the speedo is 30mph in reality, 35mph equals 50mph etc. (no, it's not consistently 'out'). I can work around that for the time being.

Re: Gearbox Solenoid Pack - change

and because I am mad, I decided to try her with the empty horse trailer (now that she has a newly welded / reconstructed back end and new towbar fitted), on a 6 mile jolly down the A road and back. Speedo still dodgy, but everything else seemed fine! Rev counter steady, sounded 'healthy', temperatur...

Gearbox Solenoid Pack - change

Ugh :( the quest continues. Hold flashing, Rev counter going crazy. Speedo variably out. Gear changes sluggish. Gearbox centre said TPS sensor - that was changed, made no difference whatsoever. New crank sensor - we'll see, picking her up from the garage in a minute. HOPEFULLY this will have helped....

Re: Woes from the dashboard

not checked them myself, but I had hoped / prayed that the garage would check the easy options first :?

I suspect it's probably something really stupid / simple that has a knock-on effect on everything else

I will have a look around this weekend

Re: Woes from the dashboard

and the saga continues ... had the new TPS fitted eventually (alongside some welding), picked her up this morning, looked ok for about a minute, then the Rev counter went crazy again, the Hold light came on and the speedo is still wildly 'out' (not consistently either, sadly! If it was a case of 'ad...
