Hi All
I appreciate that this may have been previously discussed on here under the below thread.

I am starting to re-kindle my interest in looking for a Campervan for 2022. Naturally, the Bongo is in my attention, but I admit ...

Re: Exploring Bongo Ownership
Hello Nesty
I cannot confirm whether this is true but I did read some time ago that I believe it's the valves on the bongo, although may have been something else on the bongo, are not designed for the higher temperature associated with LPG running. I would definitely do some further research on ...

Re: Exploring Bongo Ownership
Ok many thanks for this, very handy information to know.
I have looked at other models, though the Bongo really does tick all my boxes for what I require. The thing at the moment is I am siding more for the V6 + LPG (though could get LPG done later on) and finding an interior I like. I had a VW T25 ...

Re: Exploring Bongo Ownership
Evening nesty, just reading your posts. I'm in SW Herts and was wondering if you've managed to sort a bongo yet?
I own a 2l petrol and its a terrific vehicle so any Q's feel free to ask.
Hi Joebongo
I haven't got one yet, though I am looking for one, which eventually takes my fancy! I seem to ...

I thought vehicle design was meant to be getting better going forward, that front end looks absolutely hideous

Re: Exploring Bongo Ownership
Your very welcome.
I have owned mine for 3 years now, only has approximately 56k miles and although a little sluggish on hills as previously mentioned the engine is smooth and quiet. A common problem on the 2ltrs is a leaking rocker cover gasket, which is a 2 hours job to replace, in my case £100 ...

Re: Exploring Bongo Ownership
Hello Nesty
I own a 2001 2.0ltr petrol 2wd and although it's a little slow on the hills it still a great vehicle. Last year during October we attended the bongo meet, in a very wet sodden field, we had no difficulty moving around as they are pretty low geared. Ours is an AFT so heavier than a tin ...

Re: Exploring Bongo Ownership
many thanks ok, a lot of the adverts I have seen, seem to quote both. Though must be strange seeing so much on the odometer!Bob wrote: Sun Jun 14, 2020 8:00 pm Bear in mind many Bongos record distance travelled in kilometers (or Metric Devil Units) so a reading of 100,000 is likely 60,000 good, proper, miles.![]()

Re: Exploring Bongo Ownership
Cheers many thanks. I do tend to keep to a decent service schedule, so something over 100k would give me more options.Muzorewa wrote: Sun Jun 14, 2020 5:59 pm Don't get too hung up on mileage, properly maintained (thanks Ady) they last for yonks![]()

Re: Exploring Bongo Ownership
Ok many thanks for that information.
I am starting to feel that maybe the 2WD in 2L petrol version might suit my requirements. I live down south, I don't come into that much weather, but I suppose could fit semi winter tyres if that concerned?!
Bongos appear very popular and anything low mileage ...

Re: Exploring Bongo Ownership
Many thanks for the replies on this, most helpful.
Hopefully, after the sale of my existing campervan, it should give me a decent budget to play with.
I am looking at long term ownership, I don't like changing vehicles, as when comfortable with vehicles I tend to stick with them, so don't mind ...

Re: Exploring Bongo Ownership
Hi All
Many thanks for those replies.
Sorry I forgot to add I am a solo camper.
In my current set up I have a rock and roll bed and used the upper pop top for storage, IE my luggage etc.
OK, so might be better just to plump for a already installed one then, then I suppose ready to go.
Ideally, I ...
