Re: Body work repairs
Update on this thread; I have booked our van in at a local ( to Weymouth ) bodywork outfit Bespoke Paint and Body ltd. I shall update again on the result, but they have worked on Bongos before.

Re: Body work repairs
Thanks for the advice...
Well yes, not really the weather for grovelling around the back of the van and wondering where to store the bits I've removed!

Body work repairs
Hi, I am getting to grips with an expensive quote for body work, wheel arches etc. I am being quoted for (besides the arches) removal of carpets, rear seat , and insulation. Is it worth doing some of this preparatory work myself and also getting the arches from Bongo Spares as I am being quoted £149 ...

Re: Stalling, 2.5 tdi.
Slowly but surely on this issue! Also check the fuel gauge, the connection on the fuel sender unit gets corroded ( the earth ); part of our vans problems were that the gauge was reading too high...i.e less in the tank than expected.

Re: Stalling, 2.5 tdi.
Thanks for the advice, I have checked the fuel cap which does "breathe" but not easily. I will look at the tank filter as soon as possible, is there a photo or diagram showing where it is.

Re: Stalling, 2.5 tdi.
Yes, replaced the fuel filter but not the banjo filter as our model doesn't have one (not all have them ).
The problem most likely occurs after a stop of about half an hour, and then underway in "sticky" traffic.

Stalling, 2.5 tdi.
Hi, our bongo has been stalling occasionally ( but regularly ). The conditions are as follows; negotiating stop start traffic; or slowing down for lights etc; rapid slow down in traffic; sitting in queues...especially after a longish drive. It seems as if there is fuel starvation i.e the fuel pump d...

Re: 0400, 1228 & the EGR
Thought I'd contribute to this as our 2.5 td bongo had a similar problem with the turbo. This was resolved by using turbo cleaner ( Wynns ); if the wastegate actuator can be moved ( held with pliers ) you can scrub the exposed bits with old toothbrush and turbo cleaner, this seemed to help. The whol...
