Re: Conversion cost

To give an idea on costs when done as a DIY project to a fairly high standard, here's a little breakdown. Custom rock & roll bed £840 delivered. Cooker/single hob unit about £300. Wood for floor and melamine units £200. Carpet and other upholstery stuff £40. Lighting to an extreme level £150 or ...

Re: Headlight Problem

The door switches are easy to fix, a single screw and it's out. I had problems with the passenger door switch not working, a few kicks made something happen but it was only temporary. The buzzer not working suggests a connector may be unplugged under the steering wheel, does the key light come on wh...

Re: Electrical issues

Please bear with me, I don't know where I put it at the moment so will take probably a few days of searching, things move around this place at a fast pace.

Re: Cigarette socket removal

I found it quite easy to pull out, a plug usually comes in handy and a bit of heavy handedness👍
Geoff, what's that dodgy looking red wire doing there? It looks like an after thought.

Re: Electrical issues

I have one of them speedo boxes here if it's any use, I changed the dial to MPH and removed the box, the wiring was put back as standard👍

Re: Rear bulb change

It involves sliding a hand carefully behind it, there should be a twist lock bulb holder, it is an absolute twat to do, had to change both on mine, someone fitted crap bulbs that hated the door being slammed!

Re: Headlights

If the lights is turned one click, it should put on the side lights front and back, second turns on dipped with high beam controlled by the stalk pushed forward.
Sounds like there is a wiring fault, the OP seeds to clarify exactly what position the switch is in, click 1 or 2 for dipped lights.

Re: Unknown cables

The gold connector looks like a DAB plug, the other could be for a powered antenna.

Re: Replacement Door Speakers

Them JVC speakers is what I used, I got creative when fitting them.
A recommendation after fitting them would be to use some spongy stuff around the front end to create a seal with the door panel otherwise the bass is horrendous.

Re: New Bongo

That price seems rather steep but I'm a tight arse! I only paid £3750 for mine and about 2 grand doing it up, the water pipes needed doing but that's minor stuff, back arches have been dealt with using Devcon, paint touch ups are still ongoing but the engine only needed 1 tappit changing, it was noi...

Re: 2 DIN Drama :-(

That connector looks the same as the one I removed and redone with a standard ISO connector kit,, it saves having multiple connectors chucked where they land!

Re: Electronics

Are you sure your van has airbags? That's where the airbag box would normally be, it's mounted on a metal plate with yellow connectors and a warning label.
It is something to do with the radio, it's either satnav or a tracker.

Re: 12v aerial power supply for DAB?

Has the van still got it's original aerial? If so, why not use an aerial converter box? It has a single socket input with 2 outputs, analog & digital respectively, the other wire is connected to the antenna power from the radio, reception is very good on DAB even with the aerial down. Don't even...
