Re: Rust removal
The rust will probably soon return to bubble and stain the new paint. I opted to make a feature of the critical strip by making it look like it was a sort of wheel arch trim. For that area i dab on smooth hammerite (i mixed green and black to get close to the original dark green). Its a lot quicker...

Rust removal
I’m getting rid of some rust from my wheel arch and haven’t done it before. Having asked a mate I’m planning to do the following: 1) apply “Kurust” to remove some of the rust chemically 2) sand the area to remove and remains, back to the metal 3) fill the area using this (https://rover.ebay.com/rove...

Re: Temp alarm following coolant change
The alarm has got to 100C once before, after a long uphill, and it quickly cooled down once we got on the flat with the faster air cooled things down a bit. Yesterday’s driving was normal. Meanwhile, I took the Bongo to the garage this morning. The alarm was sounding even though the temperature was ...

Re: Temp alarm following coolant change
I’ve contacted them and am dropping it off tomorrow. Hoping it’s something like an air lock that is easily remedied.

I believe they are Bongo savvy. They’ve dealt with a lot of Bongos as they were recommended by someone on a forum and got loads of business as a result. Though they’re not Bongo specialists. They’ve just seen a lot of them.

Temp alarm following coolant change
We had our MOT last week, and we asked the garage to change to coolant completely, following advice from this group. They replaced the green coolant that was there since we bought our Bongo (an import) and put in red coolant instead. On our first outing the temperature sensor I installed last year r...

Re: Removing air vent
I’ve removed the vent, and broke it in doing so. I don’t mind that but I don’t want to replacement to got he same way. Unfortunately, having spent 10 minutes on getting the replacement in I’m not convinced it is going to work.

Re: Cabin light in AFT
Does it consume less power from the battery too? We don’t have a leisure battery so power is precious.

Cabin light in AFT
Just realised how poor our cabin light is. It works, but is weak. Would a replacement bulb help?

Re: Bongo Fury conversion advice
I assume you need a leisure battery in order for the solar panel to power the cool box at night, what with there being no sun and all? Is that right?

Load on roof rack
I’m after a roof rack and roof box but am wondering if it might prove more trouble than it’s worth with an AFT. Would it be possible to elevate the AFT with a full roof box (assume a normal weight) on the roof?
