Re: Bongo tidy up and Vrt!

Have all the rust cut out and grinded any other rust I found, primed it,now have to weld in the bits I have cut out next, then stone chip and wax oil everything, hopefully that will save her for the next few years.. http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj568/stephenmcnamee83/A3AAEC07-7493-4D56-9017-ADFB...

Re: Bongo tidy up and Vrt!

Far quicker in the long run to do it as you're doing it, and a lot more fun and motivating. =D> =D> =D> Ha,putting it back together will be fun [-o< They were to many pipes and clips in the way to do it right,it’s a good job I’m doing this work myself or it would cost a fortune to pay anyone else t...

Re: Bongo tidy up and Vrt!

Decided to strip as must as possible around the wheel arches and remove the loom and air con, radiator, just so I can get the job done right, the more you strip back on these bongos the more you find, but I’m only going to once so I’m going to do my best, http://i1268.photobucket.com/albums/jj568/stephe...

Re: Bongo tidy up and Vrt!

You've got the right attitude. The Bongo is a GREAT car and well worth restoring so you can hopefully get years of use out of it. Meanwhile the restoration will make for an interesting hobby and great learning experience. And if you're doing it yourself it neednt be ruinously expensive. =D> Thanks ...

Re: Newbie from Ireland

Welcome to the forum and good luck with the van. Have a look at this thread on bodywork, ours was rotten after a few years and we thought it would be scrap, but Bongo Spares did a pukka job on it. To do the arches properly (welded, not with filler), the inside needs to be stripped out otherwise you...

Re: Newbie from Ireland

Hello purple haze , welcome to the madness  I'm from donegal myself but living now in co Clare . Rust is the killer so best deal with it sooner rather than later . The rear arches they use seem to be from a sprinter or Vito but bongo spares are your best bet . Check your inner and outer sills ...
