Alternatives to Bongos?
Not sure if this is a sensitive topic! I'm very taken with the idea of a Bongo, but there are a few issues. If I've understood right there aren't any ULEZ compliant Bongos, so I'm looking at post 2006 cars like Elgrands, Alphards and maybe VW Transporters. As these are still in production, that'll p...

Thanks all for the replies, I think LPG is definitely worth looking at!

Re: How wide are the various sleeping areas?
Thanks very much all,
Yes, I think the AFP and side conversion beds are just way way too small for us. A rear conversion might be a possibility.
A straightforward two berth conversion might make more sense too.
Is there a large community of Elgrand and Alphard owners?

Re: How wide are the various sleeping areas?
Thanks for the replies all, it’s really helpful. So looking around the internet I’ve found a few other numbers and wanted to check them here. So: Standard side conversion will have a Rock and Roll bed which is 41” = 3 ft 5”. The AFT bed is 44”x88” = that’s 3ft 8” wide. A rear conversion should allow...

How wide are the various sleeping areas?
Hi all, Thinking about buying a converted Bongo but haven't yet seen one in the flesh. From what I've read and seen, the side conversions seem to leave a R&R bed of 41" - which seems *extremely* skinny for two adults. I have also seen some reference to 47" wide beds done by a particula...

Re: Total cost of ownership
Hi Geoff,
That's really helpful, I'd really like to see some real numbers even if there a few issues with comparability. I'll send you a PM now.
TheLongRoad - do you happen to have even a rough guess at what you've spent over the years?

Where to buy in London?
Hi,
Live in East/Central London and would be interested to see some Bongos in the metal. Is there a well thought of dealer nearby? I checked the dealer list but this seems to have mostly dealers that are about 2 hours away at best. Anything closer?

Total cost of ownership
Hi all, Very close to buying a Bongo, I've been through the forum but wanted to check a few details. Has anyone ever kept a spreadsheet of all their actual costs they've incurred with their Bongo? It would be useful to try to get a precise feel. It seems like depreciation is more or less zero, insur...

Newbie - lots of questions
Hi all, I’m thinking about buying a Bongo campervan, or something similar. I’ve read FAQs and have a bunch of questions still - if I’ve put this in the wrong place please tell me where to put it instead. What we’re looking for is a campervan that’s comfortable for two adults, but that’s small enough...
