Re: Bike rack

Do you have a tow bar. If so something like a "buzz rack" can double as a load carrier or bike carrier.

Air intake adjuster

Does anyone bother switching the air intake from cold to hot running. I have petrol 2ltr and just haven't bothered, leaving it on warm weather setting. I know this winter has been very warm but in more northern areas does anyone think it makes a difference.

Re: Front door speakers

Following the previous reply. I have a 99 petrol 2ltr. Had trouble with drivers door speaker and found inside the visible bound wires at the door opening brittle wires and the speaker one broken. Temp repair with connector and recovered with new tape has solved the problem. Similar problem on passen...

Re: Headlights Going Out on Idle!

There are previous posts on this subject, two of them from me when I too was a newbe. The over ride switch on my bongo is on the steering column shroud just about where my knees are. And unmarked little rocker switch. I must have switched it over perhaps when cleaning. I also have a gizmo that switc...

Auto headlight dimmers

Just a reminder to those with the automatic headlight dimmer when stationary. Just had the bongo fail mot because I must have caught the switch with my knee. Retest a few hours later when I showed the mechanic the switch, and passed at no extra cost. I only knew it existed a few months ago. These de...

Satnavs

Outing yesterday from Huntingdon to Wales and back via village in Wiltshire and wanted back up of my trusty garmin satnav of 5 plus years age. After setting off it just won't locate any satellite signal. It has never done this before. Everything else seems to work, background map, tools etc. My non ...

Re: 3 kids and 2 dogs

Having taken grandchildren away in my bongo, the biggest problem is where to put luggage, awning, seats, tables etc. Luckily my bongo already had a tow bar so I bought a "buzz rack" which fits on top of the ball and I can fit all our camping stuff on it without it going over the weight lim...

Re: Hello, new member advice - East Mids. servicing locations

Have a look at Andy's Imports from near Norwich. Has various examples of bongos both converted and unconverted. I bought mine from there and hold them in high regard as to their product. Plenty of opportunity for a test drive. My 2.0 litre petrol is slow off the mark but happily drives fully loaded ...

Re: Cooking in a Bongo?

After 20 plus years of campervans of all sizes, one thing we noticed early on is that whatever is above or adjacent to the burners will suffer. One brand new van had a blind and its whole housing warped and turned a horrible shade of tan. Since then frying has been verboten. We swear by a small slow...

Re: Headlights go off when stationary

Drove to south of France last year overnight, but only stopped once for a sleep. Also, don't usually drive at night. Two days ago I set off at 7:30 in morning and put lights on and noticed when I got into traffic. Side lights obviously stay on so I suppose I can cope. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Headlights go off when stationary

Thanks a lot. I do have a little box and it switches on sidelights when darkness or tunnels approach. Didn't know it had this other function. Thanks again.

Headlights go off when stationary

I have been bongo owner for 15 months and only just noticed that my headlights turn off a sidelights stay on when I have come to a stop. They come back on immediately I set off driving again. Is this a regular bongo feature or have I got an after market add on?
