Thanks Brian!
That’s a very quick response and a great suggestion. I will definitely have a look into this when I get a chance. Is the screw easy to find?
Cheers,
Sam

Continuing starting problems with diesel
Hello all, I posted about starting issues a while back and have taken the suggestions on board. What happens is that if I turn off the van and restart it will fire up immediately, but if I leave it for a few hours it will give an initial chug chug as if it is going to start, then it will take about ...

Re: Indicator stuck on in rain
Raining on and off today and consistently sticking on. Have taken out the front unit and. I obvious water ingress into the unit and the wires are all dry.
I’ve discovered it only does it when the lights are on. Is that a short somewhere?
Any ideas what the next step might be?
Cheers.

Indicator stuck on in rain
Greetings all. Just back from a wet weekend in the Bongo. There has been an annoying issue of late (another), and it is that when it rains, after about five minutes, the right hand indicator stick in the on position. It doesn’t flash, just both front, rear and the dash indicator are a solid light. I...

Re: Side door stuck closed- mechanism working.
After a power drain issue I now disconnect the battery when it is parked. I’m not bothered about the soft close mechanism working as I can close the door normally. Sometimes though the soft close attempts to do its thing, and fails, even when the battery is disconnected. Where is it getting it’s pow...

Re: Side door stuck closed- mechanism working.
I isolate the battery when parked. It normally doesn’t do the soft-close thing - I don’t want it to. Maybe I should remove the fuse too?

Re: Side door stuck closed- mechanism working.
Panic over! Thanks for the reply. Turns out I had almost got the clip off - looked on other side and there was a loop that I could grab. So, handle off, bits of collar plastic everywhere so it probably won’t stay on, it that’s another issue. The problem was the mechanism at the bottom of the door - ...

Side door stuck closed- mechanism working.
Hello all, again. It seems my Bongo has to have at least one fault. It seems to be starting again now, which is a relief, but after a heavy downpour the other night, with the window slightly open, the side door will not open. It is not the child lock as it doesn't open from the outside either. I hav...

Re: Starting takes 5 or 6 attempts 2.5td
Tried it again tonight to lift the lid. Turned key and nothing but a click. All the lights on dash are fine but just a click. Hmmmmm, can’t be dead battery as I had isolated and just connected back up. Must be electrics this time so wiggled the gear selector to make sure contacts are made, pressed t...

Re: Starting takes 5 or 6 attempts 2.5td
Appreciate the thoughts! Afraid to try it again now - a Bongo is only as good as its last start.

Re: Starting takes 5 or 6 attempts 2.5td
Here’s a twist, it started first time this morning. It was a bit colder, a bit damper and I had the ignition on for a few minutes before, but still odd. Maybe the Wynns diesel injector cleaner is doing its magic????

Probably not! Just a suggestion. Seems to have stopped leaking now. Will try fuel filter.

Re: Starting takes 5 or 6 attempts 2.5td
Pressure build up? If the system is air tight then it wouldn’t leak.

Re: Starting takes 5 or 6 attempts 2.5td
I’m going to do a service next week so will order a fuel filter too. Must remember to fill up new filter with diesel as it took ages to get it going last year. Are the ones from bongo spares ok as that is where the last one was from? Been out in it today - a quick burble on startup, then 5 or 6 atte...
