Re: ‘Car’ or ‘camper’ - when booking campsites?

🙌, that makes sense, thanks you Bob. Keep it clear and simple. Some of my camping-campervanning brain cells are only starting to warm up …. The only further complication is some campsites now will not let you park your car next to your (in my case usually imaginary) tent. This is more likely in the ...

‘Car’ or ‘camper’ - when booking campsites?

The season of camping and campervanning is upon us once again :-D . Now I’m booking again I am having the dilemma I had before. When you book do you put tent instead of campervan if you have an unconverted? I have an unconverted bongo, don’t use electricity, and strictly speaking an MPV :D . Of cour...

Re: E10 Fuel

Simple, stupid question. Maybe a simple answer?!

I have a 2004 bongo. So I can use E10 with no problem, apparently.

Should I though? Why not carry on with E5?

I’m not quite clear the basis of my choice? Is it to help the environment? a cost thing ?

Thank you in advance if you can clarify.

Re: Do you use your bongo as your main vehicle?

Hi. I did try an e-bike in the Summer for an afternoon, and was surprisingly impressed. It just felt like riding a normal bike really, but with more help! Its really good if you are a bit physically challenged, as I am, I don't find it easy going up hills etc. But can I also be physically "doin...

Re: Blinds: internal or external? Or maybe even curtains?

For rear window. I've seen Van X rear curtains which look great. I have the reflecting shields you can put inside van elsewhere - they are good - but fall off quite regularly especially on back window (maybe its just mine) and all 4 take up quite alot of space to store ... but I would say are defini...

Where best to buy internal grab rail?

I've had a look online and can't seem to find one. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place ..? I could then find someone to fit it locally.

I'm thinking of a longish vertical rail just to the right of the bongo entrance door.

Re: Do you use your bongo as your main vehicle?

I have a car as well, but really I think I only need the bongo. The bongo is pleasant to drive and I usually only do very short distances in the car, so it would be unlikely I'd save much in terms of mileage. So, am thinking of selling car. Next question: should I buy an electric bike though????!!!!...

Re: Summer camping

Its a dilemma for me too ... OTOH, I think campsites are meant to reduce capacity, to keep to CV guidelines. So there will be potentially more space actually and campsites may be even a bit quieter depending on how they interpret them. I suppose it also depends how the "guidelines" progres...

Re: Travelling as lockdown slowly lifted?

You can drive anywhere in England for exercise or 'leisure purposes' there appears to be no legislative restrictions on how far you may travel ... you are not supposed to stay elsewhere other than your home address overnight though. I re-read the latest guidelines, after posting. Agree, it seems no...

Travelling as lockdown slowly lifted?

Just wondering if people had any thoughts on this. Lockdown being slowly lifted. Understand some travelling (a day out?) allowed from Wednesday 13 May, but not exactly sure. Do people think it will be a long time before lockdown lifted enough for campsites to re-open - it seems to be looking that wa...

Re: Love you guys

Yes, I think the forum is great also. So much accessible information, time to think and respond, and you can look up past thread subjects easily, and there's alot of help esp from some people who really give so much. I'm also on Facebook sometimes, which is good for more immediate stuff I think, but...
