Just to update i had the crank pulley replaced and shes running without the noise now. When the old one came off the rubber had degraded and it fell into 2 bits. Cheers for the advice all.

Re: Timing belt noise
Geoff,
I agree after a little more research and looking at movement i pretty sure its the crank shaft pulley.
Ill get her to a garage to confirm.
Anyone have a rough idea how much a garage would charge to replace. I can see them for sale for anywhere from 70 to 150 depending age of the pulley ...

Re: Timing belt noise
Geoff,
Yeh sorry miss named the belt. Any ideas on the noise emanating from the area looks like the pulley is moving, causing the noise.
Cheers

Timing belt noise
Hello everyone,
Looking for advise on this noise from the timing belt. Is it just a simple readjustment and new belt or something more terminal.

Many thanks in advance

Geoff
Cheers for the drawing, that'll give me something to start checking. I'm an Electrical Engineer by trade so hopefully should only blow some fuses once.
