Take care
It was the inhibitor in the gear box, it was stopping it from starting presumably vecause it thought it was in gear at all times. The connections were very badly water damaged and rusted #-o

Gearbox serial number

Anyone know much about gearbox codes? I don't have access to my bongo at the moment and need the serial/code.

It's an 2.5td auto 2wd 1997 model. Did they differ at all? Thanks in advance.

As you can see one of the pins in the male connector has snapped and is corroded. Ideally need the plug that attaches also with about 20cm of wiring. Thanks in advance https://...

Re: New owner - Starting issues....

Check for a good connection to both terminal 30 (batt live) and terminal 50 (exciter) of starter. Earth's and exciter might be okay but main cable might have a high resistance. That could be why it can't fully engage and then rotate. Hi, cleaned up both bath terminals. Is terminal 50 one of the two...

Would jumping from another vehicle not rule that out? As I tried that and no luck. Also when it does decide to start it...
