Re: Lost ignition key and immobiliser fob

Bilbo Baggins had your keys?!

Timpsons would likely be a good bet to get an extra spare made, and if they can't do it, at least they'll tell you first (and with them having their small shops in big supermarkets you don't have to go out of your way to find one).

They're gone now, thankfully it ended up not being a live wasps nest, but still, some guests you just don't want to have visit.

Re: Air In Diesel / Reccomended specialists near Lincoln?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. We were told to go to a specialist by one of the two local garages we use who said that there was a risk we'd get "passed from pillar to post" otherwise, also yes, it was just the drain plug we used. We've been kind of working on trying to get it back on the road ...

Air In Diesel / Reccomended specialists near Lincoln?

Hi, My Mothers' Bongo has been diagnosed as having air in the fuel and we were also told that our fuel pipes were looking somewhat aged (and also that we made things worse by emptying the sediment tank) which may mean that is where the air is being taken in. In ringing round the local garages, most ...

Re: No dashboard lights/engine start - but other lights working.

New battery (old one would charge, but then would rapidly drop to 2volts within minutes) and empty sediment tank, and the following is now how things stand with the Bongo. Dashboard Lights work with a charged battery. The alarm is working - went off with my ear right next to its' speaker . Tur...

Re: Sediment Cannister Location?

All done. Once I knew they hinged back the rest was fairly easy, used an old 100 pack CD-ROM container tub to catch it all in before transferring it to something more sensible, though you have to wonder how much is water when it's so yellow with diesel. Now, do we take it to any normal waste disposa...

Re: Sediment Cannister Location?

Thanks for the replies. ... I'd got that far before, but then the seat still seemed clamped in place so I figured there was an additional step I'd missed. I thought it might swivel or tilt or something but it was still very much held down so I figured there was an additional step I was missing. Does...

Sediment Cannister Location?

Hi, I read that the sediment light being on means that excess water has to be drained. I found a thread here that said it was underneath the drivers seat area - I crawled under the Bongo and the only thing I saw in that location looked more like a coolant resevoir (spherical plastic container with d...

Re: No dashboard lights/engine start - but other lights working.

The Varta batteries are only a couple of years old, and I topped them up as a precaution - only took an hour to do both, so not really deeply discharged since the MOT. Although I couldn't tell you if the garage that charged them for the MOT also tested them, our own charger when I topped them up did...

No dashboard lights/engine start - but other lights working.

A while ago, my Mothers' Bongo had its' MOT, at which time the garage charged up the battery (hadn't been used in a while). Just recently I had the batteries out myself since again, it hadn't been started since the MOT and topped them up as she'd been thinking of going away on holiday. About a week ...

Speedometer, Indicators & Stalk Query.

Watched a video earlier about earth problems which reminded me to ask about a couple of problems my Mother has with her Bongo (2.5TD Auto). If you indicate right, the speedometer stops working. I presume this is an earth fault, so I was wondering bar the battery terminals where we should look to fix...

Re: Lucky Coin

Most will be removed by converters Ours was originally converted for a previous owner by 321Away so maybe they either didn't find it at the conversion or left them in. Haven't found one in Bongy or MX5. :( Without my glasses I read it as Lucky Colin. Is it an MX-5 or a Eunos, since it's only ...

Lucky Coin

Hi, Today I learnt that non-export versions of the MX-5 in Japan (the Eunos Roadster) had an 100 yen coin hidden somewhere in them for luck by the workers. Back when my mother got her Bongo I was given the task of cleaning it. I made such a thorough job of it that even though it had been owned by se...

Re: Towing A Caravan: Is It Legal

Just as a small (and possibly final) update to this thread. A few days ago I left a comment on the Lifesure page asking for clarification between what Mazda says and what they say. All comments on their site have to be approved so it's either still pending approval or got rejected already. I guess o...
