Re: Bongos and that dreaded word..RUST!!!

If you are querying that I reckon you need to have a professional Inspection/Report of the vehicle or take someone who know's what they are actually looking at/for prior to any deal

Re: Bongos and that dreaded word..RUST!!!

Caveat Emptor....as with all secondhand vehicle purhases, do the research, examine the vehicle whether trade or private and mitigate most of the 'risk'; I personally would if rust is a concern be looking for a newly imported facelift Aero/converted example having between £6-10K in my pocket; up to £...

Re: Fuse 1

Ah ok, that makes sense then. Thanks I suspect the stereo is the cause of my battery drain so I'll disconnect that and see what difference it makes. My stereo was wired into the Leisure Battery circuit and it causes drain especially so it seems when CDs are left in it even when unit is switched 'of...

Re: Central locking

Wiring/electrical issue, or some lubrication needed. On my MG's when this situation has occured it has meant the motor unit/lock is of a limited lifespan before complete failure.

Good it's all sorted. What mileage is on the van, had you changed the ATF before this happened?

Re: Finally dead and got to go.

No chance Jan has got too used to 4.5mpKwh* instead of 30mpg if she was lucky. Let me know if you ever decide to visit the http://www.nvgc.org.uk/about.html * Approx 45mpLitre or 205mpg and that's only on the rare occasions we have to pay to charge. Peterborough has on street and car park charge po...

Re: My mpg and cost per mile

I agree with that sentiment, the 2.0 will get up everything in the end! Just frustrating at times when others don't keep the momentum from the downhill going into an uphill and leave the poor old Bongo struggling

We were in Somerset a few months ago and realised if we lived in a very hilly area the 2.0 would not be a good option.

Re: Coolant leak right side (from front)

The bore damage to me looks like damage due to heat issues either too hot (overheating) or maybe even too 'cold' (frequent short trips). I am not sure what they are quoting for a 'new' engine and labour to fit or how far you are in ££'s wise, but for me it would be time to cut my losses and be looki...
