Fuel Gauge issue.

Hi Guys Just got my Bongo back from Ian Taylor in Stoke, he has done a done of work on it but down the road noticed the fuel gauge had completely stopped working. Temperature gauge is fine though and all other electrics are also fine. Ian did however fit a coolant alarn and put the buzzer/led on RHS...

Side mounted seats

Hi guys Ive had two swivel seats put in and have removed the middle bench seats to allow more room (have a rear conversion) but now I'm thinking of ways to actually have a bed downstairs but still keep the room. I'm figuring, putting middle seats back in to use as a bed is a waste of use for the swi...

Re: Looking for advice on Major structural corrosion

I stated that due to the sale of goods act 1979 ... I believe Sale of Goods Act will only apply to vehicles bought from a dealer, not privately. The Sale of Goods Act, Unfair Terms Act and Supply of Goods Acts were merged into a new Consumer Rights Act effective 1 Oct 2015; as the vehicle was bough...

Re: Looking for advice on Major structural corrosion

Unfortunately the Private seller does not need to prove anything its up to the buyers to Test And Try before They Buy .Most private sellers don't know their A#se from their Elbow when it comes to the welfare of motor vehicles. This does not help you in anyway, alas there are professional people out ...

Re: Looking for advice on Major structural corrosion

Mine's a 95 model, properly dinitroled when still in good condition but still needing welding as the years pass. So this is to be expected BUT the owners claims amount to misrepresentation in my view and the price is indeed high given the obvious poor condition. What was their reason for selling, o...

Re: Looking for advice on Major structural corrosion

Really sorry to hear the story. The answer to your question depends on what what was said to you at the time of sale regarding the condition of the vehicle, and if you can prove it . You and the seller entered a contract, so if the seller, even a private one misrepresented the sale as you have said...

Re: Looking for advice on Major structural corrosion

Hi and thanks for all your comments, appreciate it. I did start very nicely, I asked to work with the private seller to come to some sort of financial resolution. The seller (a very nice lady I thought) seemed genuinely upset by the news and she maintained she sold it in good faith and wasn't aware ...

Looking for advice on Major structural corrosion

Hi guys Am looking for some advice please. I bought my Bongo 3 months ago through a private seller and paid 7k for the vehicle which I thought was a decent price considering all the extras it came with and how good the car looked cosmetically. I have recently taken it to a Bongo savvy garage in Harb...

Thanks Bob,

Yes, I am waiting for my local storage people to ring me, any minute now. Can you recommend a good cover and a reputable waxoyl service not too far from Coventry?

Winter protection

Hi Guys Its getting to the time of the year where I need to seriously start thinking of protecting my Bongo from the winter elements. My original plan was to spend the winter making sure the whole vehicle is mechanically sound ready for spring. So far I have a steering rack to replace, front suspens...

Re: Couple of Newbie Techie Questions!

The wallowing / floating feeling isn't normal and will most likely be due to the damping in the shocks having gone. The £100 ish rear air suspension mod will help a lot although it masks rather than solves the issue. Just a quick note on spare tyres. Once you know what size you need ( use the tyre ...
