I bought a S4 029 Bosch Car Battery 12V 95Ah Type 250 S4029 which I found recommended on one of the bongo forums. Is this not appropriate?teenmal wrote: Fri May 05, 2023 9:22 am Looks like you might have fitted the wrong battery, check the terminal connections to make sure that they are fitted the correct way round.

Re: Dead bongo after battery replacement
The bongo had been on my drive for about 3 months without being driven. Prior to that I used it to commute to work!
Do you have any suggestions on how I could diagnose the issue?

Dead bongo after battery replacement
The battery on my bongo died and stopped taking charge.
I replaced it with a S4 029 Bosch Car Battery 12V 95Ah Type 250 S4029
The bongo appeared totally dead!
When removing the old battery, I knocked out the cable connected from one of the terminal cables (the one with the fuses attached) which ...

Alarm going off.where is backup battery
At 2am the alarm started going off.
The phob won’t switch it off. Unlocking the van had no impact. So I disconnected the primary and leisure battery
It’s still going but much quieter. Where would I find the alarm and it’s backup battery?
Any ideas why the alarm wouldn’t switch off?

Re: Flat battery for newbie
So attached battery after a full nights chargenow reading at 12.8v with multimeter.
With key switched to on, air con works, alarm light and lights also work.
Hazzards work, but not the indicators!!!
I also hear a click from under bonnet.
If I turn key to start nothing happens.
There are now no ...

Re: Flat battery for newbie
Charged it. It's now at 12.9
Does this mean it is overcharged or is this just surface charge?

Re: Flat battery for newbie
Charging the starter battery now.
Hoping there will be enough juice in 4/5 hours.
Do leisure batteries trickle charge off the hookup? Or is it off The alternator?
Going to do a parasite test next week to find the cause of my woes

Re: Flat battery for newbie
I connected the black jump lead to the chassis of the camper and while hooked up used my multimeter to check from the red terminal to the chasis. Read at 12.15
Later, with the battery disconnected, I turned the key to enable dashboard etc this dropped to about 11.38

Re: Flat battery for newbie
So... the stater battery has 12.15v
So I hooked it up to my car and tried to jump (ran for 10 mins).
I revved the balls out of my car too. Never went up over 12.15/12.16
Tried to start the van. Nothing happened!
Going to take the battery out and get it tested under load at Halfords.
The leisure ...

Re: Flat battery for newbie
Sorry to hear of your woes. Have you tried contacting the person you bought the Bongo from to see if they can shed any light? I wouldnt expect alarm etc to be running from the leisure battery. You need to do some tests (after charging the starter battery). For example, disconnect the starter ...

Re: Flat battery for newbie
these little jump packs can in my opinion be dangerous so be careful. the leads on these kits are way to short, particularly the negative lead, you do NOT want to connect both the leads to the battery to be started, unless there is something in the design of the internals of these jump packs that ...
