Re: Dismantle Rear Bench

I looked at this for exactly the same reason and found this video of a guy dismantling one on Youtube. I then decided it wasn't worth the effort and made room in my garage instead!

It was £400 when I was checking. That was a year or so ago IIRC.

Re: Radio suggestions for a new bongo owner

Personally I've been looking at a 7" wireless Android Auto stereo. I've got the best GPS/traffic software, unlimited music etc on my phone, so why not just use that to drive a screen?

Re: Problems with power dropping out, have I killed my engine?

I'm nowhere near as mechanically inclined as some of the regulars on here but IIRC the issue with E10 was that one of the pinking agents that replaced the lead was corrosive to some of the pipes, as opposed to not compatible with the engine in general. But like I said someone with more knowledge wil...

Re: Northstar Conversions Middle Swivel Seat

The only thing I'd say is that I decided I quite fancy this in my Bongo. They have a post on their web page saying if you're having any work done they'll lend you a van to explore the island while they did it. I thought this sounded great so I contacted them several times and didn't get a response.

Re: Solar Install Questions

You might find you can get a 12v charger for your laptop and drone. That's how I charge my laptop in the van. Ordinarily laptop chargers want 14v-16v DC so getting a charger to make that step specifically would be much more efficient than going up to 240v and back down again. My brain knows that eve...

Re: 3M headlight restoration kit purchased

My garage does this for me every time I get my Van MoT'd. I don't even think I pay for it. Or if I do it's negligible.

Re: Solar Install Questions

I've been looking at a Vango Hob that starts at 100W and ramps up to 200W, 450W, 600W, and 800W. I've not found a low power 12v Induction Hob yet. The other thing is a Tassimo Coffee machine. Which I believe pulls 600w although I can't find the documentation I originally found for this. That's it re...

Solar Install Questions

Hi Guys, I've got a new solar panel and MPPT box to put in my van. I'd like to let you know of how I intend to install it and for those who have solar installations to let me know if they see any gotchas if that's OK? Current setup is 1 Leisure Battery installed in the engine bay, charged with SCR a...

Re: Problems with hills!

I also have a 2.0 petrol bongo. I also notice the long slow hill syndrome. My Bongo has always been like this since I've had it and I've always just put it down to heavy wagon + small engine + gravity = slow wagon. My Bongo will pretty much stay at 40 on a long steep hill. I don't get the loud buzzi...

Re: radio wiring

Funny thing. After not getting around to getting this sorted 5 years ago, I came back to it this week. The first post I googled turned out to be my own! Long story short, somewhere in my loom the Ignition switched power and permanent back-up power have been joined and this turned out to be less easy...

Nice review. I amy pick one up. Just FYI, you can log a review on Amazon even without purchasing from them.
