Re: Front anti roll bar
It's not the actual brackets and bushes - the ARB is now off the van. I took the advice previously posted on here and plusgassed everything over a week and then worked slowly. All off without shearing. I learned my lesson going too fast when I sheared two water pump bolts three years ago!! Anyway......

Front anti roll bar
Well, it's been a while since I've posted on here! But I have been lurking and using the valuable back catalogue of posts to service and maintain my Bongo since then. Den at New Dawn also converted my van and hi-topped it so t the back end of 2018 so it's not been a quiet time! Unfortunately my van ...

Re: Oil filled radiator
Thanks One of the conditions of camping on 4 out of the 7 nights was that we stopped at campsites with a hookup and showering facilities. Hookup isn't an issue on 3 of those nights. The other campsite don't take bookings for one night so have just told us to turn up and they will see what they can d...

Oil filled radiator
Off to the Scottish Highlands at the end of October and splitting our time between Hotels and staying in the Bongo. It's likely to be nippy so was looking at acquiring one of these: http://www.argos.co.uk/product/4152291?store=4179&cmpid=GS001&_$ja=tsid:59130|cid:599609992|agid:24126986217|t...

Re: pressure test your bongo with this kit
worth buying and putting in your tool kit , if you break down in the middle of nowhere with a coolant leak issue it may just help you test the system and find the leak. just needs a little mod to fix it either perm or temp into the system. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dry-Pressure-Test-Kit-4-bar-Gauge...

Re: Rear Heater Supply Pipe
I forgot to post up the outcome of my work with the invaluable help and advice I received on here. All replaced, flushed, refilled and bled. Engine seems to be running 2-3 degrees cooler too. Went through its MOT with a few advisories so was chuffed with that too and all set, after changing oil and ...

Re: Rear Heater Supply Pipe
That's good news! I've not replaced any of the smaller hoses (yet!) but this thread is my reference for when I do! Update: 1. Pipe is replaced 2.Finally cracked the thermostat housing - 750mm breaker bar did the trick after liberal dousing of 3-2-1 penetrating spray 3. Sheared a water pump pulley bo...

Re: Alternator belts....too long?
Hey cmm303 What a crazy coincidence....I have been to a garage today about another problem, and got talking about this one. Following that conversation, I was planning on posting again here about this issue, when I noticed that you'd inquired after it today! Btw, thanks for posting the pictures and...

Hi....another not so newbie!
Hi all. In my haste to resolve a coolant issue I realised I had been most rude and not introduced myself. My name is Leigh and I'm located between Birmingham and Walsall. I've had my 1996 Bongo for about 10 months now. I had plans to make some mods/upgrades this year but it seems my budget is going ...

Re: Rear Heater Supply Pipe
Mine also came with studs hence my confusion. I have a pulley and some bolts being delivered from a breakers so if all else fails I can replace the lot. I'm now thinking I may as well replace the belts too. Does it ever end?? Also thanks for the tip on the gasket. Been quoted over £11 for it and aft...

Re: Alternator belts....too long?
I'll be working in that vicinity over the next week or so and I'll make a mental note to measure it. Unless someone responds before then that is.

Re: Rear Heater Supply Pipe
Right. New plan of attack is to flush the coolant system with rad flush as it is and whilst running the engine stick it on my ramps. Thus hopefully making the waterpump and stat change an easier job. I can't crack the three nuts remaining and I'm hoping getting underneath will give me a bit more roo...

Lushprojects and the service manual indicate 4 bolts but the fourth in my picture looks like a threaded bar with a missing nut, ...

Re: Rear Heater Supply Pipe
Yes - I'd struck upon your previous post. Was going to hopefully source one this week while perioding dousing of the nuts in penetrating oil in situ in the hope it budges! Don't get much time on the evenings so spend it researching and thinking through the next stages. Annoyingly it looks as if one...
