Re: Exhaust, cheap rubbish :(
Hi, I can empathise fully. I bought my old van just over three years ago and on my way back from our first trip the rear exhaust broke at the bend as it goes over the axle, and I had to remove the rear section and limped home sounding like a tractor. I decided to replace the mid and rear sections my...

Re: Strange noises
It's certainly not what I had, it's not the belts in the auto box slipping is it? I get that on initial start up for a minute or so but then it's fine. If something isn't working correctly in your gearbox like a pump maybe, then the ATF fluid is not doing what it's supposed to do. Only a guess, no e...

Re: 2.0 petrol stalling when idling or braking
Hi, just wanted to do an update, as I hate it when people just disappear after having problems. My problem seemed to go away however cold weather appeared along with damp conditions and it reared its ugly head again. I thought, sod it, ordered distributor cap and rotor, plugs and HT leads. Fitted th...

Re: newbie Bongo owner with ticking noise question...
I presume the wrapping in foam solves the clicking noise but surely something is wrong with it. Do you think it's important to get it changed?

Re: newbie Bongo owner with ticking noise question...
Hi, sorry for the hijack of thread, I have tried to contact silverbongo directly to no avail. I was wondering does anyone know how much the charcoal canister is, if it is actually available to buy and if it isn't does anyone know of a replacement alternative ?

Re: Gearbox sump gasket
Hey, Rita, thank you for forcing me to investigate further. On inspection the gasket I ordered "assuming" it was the correct one. I was wrong. I contacted the supplier who called me back and as it turns out, my 2.0l petrol requires the V6 petrol one, go figure,. He very kindly updated my o...

Re: Gearbox sump gasket
Yeah I realised that so I checked actual part numbers on the lush projects website ( you click the plus sign next to the description of your part and sure enough they were the same, I think it was the 4x4 which was different and maybe the V6 but the diesel and 2.0 petrol were same so hopefully we'll...

Re: Gearbox sump gasket
Hi guys. I've checked the exploded views on lush projects and the gasket is the same part number it seems for all engine types and so stands to reason that they are all the same 19-835? I'm

Gearbox sump gasket
Hi gang, I'm doing an atf change and I am after a gearbox sump gasket for the 2.0 petrol 2000 plate. Can someone advise, are all gearboxes across the range the same, or do I have to be careful which one I purchase. I have seen some for 2.5 V6 and some for 2.5TD but none specified for the 2.0. they r...

Re: Downpipe gasket
Well, I drove to Prestatyn today for a camping trip and it's still there, the ticking. It's quieter and doesn't do it as much as it did. So I'm on the right lines I think. I'll try and get a gasket and use silicone sealant and that should be that. Or I might just leave it, missus can't even hear it,...

Re: Downpipe gasket
O........kaaaaay, now I feel a whole lot more optimistic........not! The "ticking" which it makes is a slight tick tick tick, almost sounds like a relay, however with the passenger seat up, you realise its not a slight tick at all. Amazing how soundproofed you are from the engine an inch o...

Re: Downpipe gasket
Okay so managed to examine it properly, just now. And shock, horror, no gasket whatsoever. There goes my idea of taking it to my local exhaust place and asking for a similar gasket  The manifold goes into the cat section quite neatly, so I applied some gasket silicone sealant. We shall see if...
