Re: Leisure battery

Don't be tempted to overhang the tray, I've seen in the past a battery split its case where this was done, the edge over time wore away at the case and eventually split the casing with a right old resultant mess with Sulphuric Acid covering all the bonnet internals not good! If you can't fit a new ...

Leisure battery

Hi all We currently have the smallest lead acid 75AH leisure battery fitted and need at least 110AH battery as eventually we will be having a diesel heater fitted but all of the 110AH batteries I have found are too big for the tray I have fitted, they are either too tall so hit the bonnet or too lon...

How much stuff do I safely carry in a bike rack storage box?

After my last video of the Thule 900 Backup storage box on a bike rack I wanted to show how much stuff I carry safely in it, its all about lightweight stuff so it won't overload and cause damage to either van or box.

Storage box on a bike rack

Our problem was that we take all the usual stuff with us in the bongo like folding chairs and power reel etc and if we put them in the van we cannot use it as a day van so putting a storage box onto the bike rack gives us the storage solution we desperately needed Link to video - https://youtu.be/18...

No wires at all, it has a dedicated camera button on the satnav screen at all times you just press it and the camera turns on

There is a camera button on the satnav all the time so you just press it and it turns the camera on

Wireless Reversing Camera

Simple to fit wireless reversing camera that connects to the Garmin satnav With us having a Thule storage box on a bike rack on the back of Gordon the Bongo it made the rear view mirror no use at all so this Garmin BC40 wireless reversing camera is perfect, it runs off 2x AA batteries that so far ha...

Re: Leisure Battery replacement

Be a bit wary of the modern battery types the AGM and GEL types whilst they look good at the headline level with much better discharge capability etc. they also require modern charging techniques that the alternator and EHU units DON'T support! Most solar controllers now do but this is often only u...

Pop top roof bed modification with gas struts

Gordon the Bongo was originally imported from Japan as a “Tin Top” Mazda Bongo Friendee and we paid to have it fully converted inside into a campervan but we also had the “Tin Top” removed and a “Pop Top” roof made by drivelodge motorhomes fitted for an extra sleeping space of which the floor of the...

Windscreen washer pump repair

Windscreen washer pump was replaced in February by myself and realised it wasn't as easy as I thought, there is a pump on the front of the bottle and one on the rear, the one on the rear you can just about get to without removing the bottle but the windscreen one is the front one so out came the lei...

Leisure Battery replacement

When we bought Gordon the bongo it was fully converted with leisure battery and electrics etc but recently we had to take the leisure battery out to do the washer pump and noticed its a standard lead acid 70Ah which I now want to replace. It is a standard 120A slit charge relay setup but would a 110...
