In-forum advertising

Can someone tell me why on earth an advert for breast enlargement appeared at the bottom of a thread about paintwork on the technical forum?
I suppose I should be thankful (or disappointed perhaps) that it wasn't a pop-up

Re: Bonnet Removal

Might be quicker to mask it off and paint it in situ. Then there's no worries about realigning it when you refit it - and you'll be able to see how the colour matches with the wings as you're painting it.

Re: MOT all clear

My bongo got its ticket yesterday. 2 issues. Hole in exhaust and split tyre (not seen by me as was on the inside.) Tyre replaced on way back from test centre, waiting for my bongo friendly mechanic to get up to date with his other customers as he has had time out having to do his own cooking etc. a...

Re: Toyota Hiace

Sadly ADAC are no longer accepting members who are not resident in Germany, or at least have a German address, as I found out when I spoke to them earlier this week. Cheapest breakdown cover quote I've found is with the RAC as a Camping Club member - just over £200 for 350 days abroad cover, and no ...

Re: 240v Hook-up location

Mine is out of sight underneath behind the os rear bumper. I cannot understand why the trend was for a hole to be made in the side of the van to fit the electrical hook=up especially given the Bongo and it's relationship with corrosion. That's exactly why I requested my EHU to be fitted underneath....

Good tip! I particularly like the fact the it also has USB charging points so it's not hogging a socket.

https://www.gumtree.com/p/campervans-motorhomes/vw-campervan-motorhome-low-mileage-with-lots-of-recent-improvements-made/1309613907 near to you, might be worth a look. Hmm, that's an Autosleepers Clubman bodyshell tacked onto a VW! I particularly like the vertical row of rivets about 2ft back from ...

Re: Toyota Hiace

Hi Sara, I have a mechanic mate who has mentioned these vans before - he's been very impressed with the engineering. However, he recently did some work on my Bongo and was similarly complimentary. The one on Gumtree looks like a very practical conversion. The chap in the second pic seems suitably im...

Re: driver side speaker

Are you sure it's the speaker? Could it be the wiring to it? The driver's door loom has a nasty habit of breaking wires and stopping things working - on mine that's most of the central locking, but that's ok 'cos my new key doesn't do the 'plip' thing anyway  It might be worth testing the speak...

Re: another bongo.

This one has a leisure battery -its got a split charger installed -but what is likely to be using leisure vs mains battery - i,m assuming interior lights cigarette lighter sockets and radio - but how would i be able to tell for sure - blinds are not electric and no conversion so no fridge or sink p...

Re: Sleeping arrangements

The seats in any arrangement are uncomfortable. Get a rock n roll bed. Regards. The existing bench seat can be 'flattened' by an automotive upholsterer or some of the conversion companies. Since the bench seat was designed to butt up to the fully reclined front seat when in its original position, i...

Re: First decent run in the ex-smoker 2.0

Just got back from a decent sized round trip to south coast and back. Performance was surprisingly good, we threw a couple of evil hills at it and it was fine. If anything, the disappointment is medium grades on motorways where it can stay in the wrong gear for a fraction too long and scrub off too...

Yup, great guy. Bought one of these, he cut it from a photo and the key number, which Mazda had helpfully stamped on the original key!!

Re: Which T-Cut?

It will almost certainly be a clear coat on top of the colour (probably metallic yes but some one better than me can confirm this) and if its anything like mine very hard too. depends what your trying to do but I have had best results (not just on the Bongo) with the Autoglim Superesin Polish and t...
