Re: 2.0L Ticking

Hello I formerly had a 20ltr bongo and it did the same thing, ticked especially the following day after a previous long run, or if it had sat for a while. I never experienced any problems as a result of the ticking, and it often cleared once the engine was warm. I did a full service after hearing it...

Re: Bongo Folk

I so agree with regards to this very helpful forum, I too have now moved on to a Ford transit custom LWB, after selling my beautiful Bongo. Having placed several questions on the Custom forum, in search of technical advice I have only recieved 1 reply. So can I say thank you to all you owners who ki...

Re: 2l 1998 ford freda rocker cover help

Hi I did mine some time ago, first attempt took 4 hours as I was a little daunted by it all, but 2nd attempt... was only 2 hours from start to finish. There is a really good guide on this forum on how too complete the task. I had to do mine twice as I did not apply additional gasket sealent in the 4...

Re: Rear heater box leaking.

Hello I sealed mine off on a 2001 2.0ltr petrol model using 15mm copper pipe with 2 elbows. Just created a loop after removing the rubber pipe connections from the rear matrix inserted the copper loop into these and bunjie corded it up to stop it moving around under the vehicle. .Very simple procedu...

Re: Rear reversing bulb type

Hi
I fitted a red LED into the centre of my rear reflector on my van, very bright and the MOT station never questioned it. Look really subtle too.

Re: Passed the test

Hi. I fitted an android stereo in my Bongo, and like Geoff mentioned, they do have a tendency to drain the battery over time. I managed this by installing a on/off switch between the live feed and stereo, which allowed me to kill the power to the stereo once the vehicle was parked up. My stereo had ...

Re: Climatronic flap motor.

Hello I have recently sold my Bongo 2001 model but do recall a similar situation, however on reading the owners manual it did state that (as Geoff said) warm air was directed through the floor vents and not via the dash vents to prevent drying the eyes, plus it created a circular motion with the coo...

Re: Bongo no more..

Hello Flanners The use of your bongo is similar to mine berlingo now in that we use it for days out walking our dog "Google" followed by a hot cuppa upon our return. One thing we enjoyed about our bongo and now citroen is that trips out no longer are a drive there and a direct return home,...

Hi
On the floor drivers side there is another Lever at the base of the seat, on the sliding track that you need to operate which will allow the seat to travel further forward

Re: Mentoring Needed On Electrics - Fuses, LBs, Split-Charge and Solar Panels?

Hello. Another option to consider is using a portable solar panel. We used a 60w solar panel to comfortable run our dometic 24ltr cool box as this only pulls approx 0.4amps per hour as opposed to a thermoelectric coolbox pulling 4amps per hour. Being portable you can follow the sun throughout the da...

Re: Bongo Petrol Probs

I previously owned a beautiful 2001 2.0ltr petrol bongo and loved it but my bug bear was its fuel efficiency, around town I too would only get around 22mph and on a run maybe 30 if I was lucky. It's a heavy vehicle and in my opinion has an under powered engine for the vehicle. Adopt the mentality of...

Re: Quality wiper blades ?

A really good tip is the periodically clean the blades with WD40 applied to a rag and then wiped up and down the blades. This stops squeaking and often the click, as when a blade gets hard it tends to jump when changing direction. You do not get any oil residue on the windscreen either provided you ...
